"I was pleased with the property and hosts. The property is quiet and comfortable. The porch overlooking the river is fantastic. The problem came during and after check out. Our host said I was only registered for 1 adult 2 kids. I had reservations for 5 adults (2weee teens). Later she emailed me saying that because I was only registered for 2 she was charging my card an extra fee. Sure enough when I checked my card was charged again. I didn’t mind paying for the extra. "The house was like a home away from home! Thank you so much for such a wonderful place to stay. The place was clean and tidy and had everything you could think of for the kitchen. The pet friendly was awesome our 2 dogs travel with us and had water bowls, towels to dry them, and even a tie out!! Definitely recommend staying here!"

"The Machias River Inn being my first time being there, and living in the state of Maine it was 10/10. The cleanest room that you can tell was cleaned properly (I’ve stayed elsewhere in the state and can tell when housekeeping leaves behind trash visible in plain sight it wasn’t cleaned or swept). Helen’s restaurant has the best pie and it’s right on the property. The waterfront views were remarkable! We watched seals every morning. Also not to take away from guides but honestly if you go to any beach nearby you’re going to see Seals and puffins if you don’t want to pay the cost of a boat tour!"

"This was a perfect house with kids and dogs. There is a perfect property line that’s helps separate the very minimal traffic on the road, less the 5 cars a day went by. All of the out door games and areas to hang out was definitely an added plus. We met some local fishermen and had fresh lobster 4 nights we were there. Local farm stands have some great sweet corn and fruits that made the trip even better. Roughs beach was a great beach to hang out at for a day or too. Thank you so much Maya."

"This was our second stay, and it was just as wonderful as the first! The house has everything you need and the views are absolutely amazing. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, while still being close enough to town for dinner or a coffee. We absolutely love staying here, and it’s an added bonus that our dog gets to enjoy it with us too. We can’t wait to come back!"
