The Hotel St. James is in an ideal location for theater-goers. It is on a relatively quiet side street in the Time Square area. We requested a quiet room, which we got. No view but a window well, but that's to be expected. The hotel is going through a renovation stage to restore some parts of it to its former glory. Until that is completed some areas are still rather worn. Unfortunately our room had not been renovated yet, so it was rather down-in-the-heel and plain. Also weird layout of the bathroom with absolutely no light over the sink for applying makeup .
We would stay here again, but would request a renovated room.
