"Can't recommend the hotel highly enough. The room was wonderful with some lovely imaginative decorative touches - particularly the Dundee Cake recipe! Staff were all really friendly, and when they found that we were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary we received a couple of complimentary drinks too. It's those little touches that really make the difference. We will without doubt be back next time we visit Dundee."

"We didn’t really eat there but they were kind enough to fill our water bottles with ice each morning and night. Internet was fine. Loved having the train station, bus stop and restaurants steps from the front door - perfect location for us. We used the Lounge every night after our walk back from dinner. "

"Our stay at 3 John's Place was great. The Whalebone room was spacious and tidy, with a great view of the street and park. Amanda was super attentive and helpful via text and made our stay easy. She helped with an early check-in when we arrived earlier than expected and helped with storing our luggage on our depature day so we could explore more of the city before our flight. If/when we go back to Edinburgh we'll definitely look to book again!"

"Hotel was conveniently located next to the Leith cruise port and was reached directly from the airport by tram. The very clean room offered a comfortable bed and pillows, a hot shower and a full bar with restaurant. "

"Staff were friendly, helpful. Bus very handy. Would definitely recommend for anyone who doesn’t need to be in town. Would have been helpful to know there aren’t any restaurants or pubs in close proximity. A list of those nearby with walking or commuting times would have been helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at 4 Friends. Thank you."

"I’ve never stayed in a hostel but I think this was a previous hostel room and it was clean and large, giving my family of 4 enough space to spread out. Also it having a full-size kitchen was very convenient again giving me some extra spaces since I’ve been with my family of 4 all week in London. And the manager was very helpful and friendly. Only complaint we had was the room was on the top of 3 floors and no elevator. So yeah there were a lot of hugging and puffing mostly by me. Overall it was a great place considering I planned this last minute and didn’t even know the fringe was going on in Edinburgh. "
