"What a beautiful little find, we were met at the property by the lovely owner, a couple of very cute little dogs and a beautiful cat called Elvis and later some chickens and two very sweet little goats roaming free. The pod/cabin/accommodation is nestled in the side of a hill with stunning views, and even though there was a storm one night it was calm and quiet in the pod. "What a beautiful place to stay . The only room above a fully renovated pub. Both the room and the pub are beautifully done. It's a large spacious room . The classic cast iron slipper foot tub in the middle of the room was used everyday. Great way to wind down. A convenience store is across the street so is parking . Great food downstairs in the pub and the staff couldn't have been nicer. If Southerndown is on your radar . This is the spot!"

"Just after Christmas I knew it wouldn't be long before i'd need my Exmoor fix. Porlock is my favourite place to be based. I went online and Hurlestone Apartment came up at a good price. It looked really homely from the photos, was pet friendly and it had parking, so I decided to book it for a long weekend. When we arrived we were greeted by Stephen. He was so welcoming. One suggestion, a little more guidance on rubbish and recycling would be helpful, we should have asked but didn’t and only realised that there was a bin for recycling on final day, the marking on bin was towards the wall and we missed it."

We had a printout from an email which said to use the Gileston Manor Courtyard with cream gates as the entrance, upon arrival at 7:30PM (more than 3 hours before check in ended) the gates were locked and the number provided was going straight to voicemail. Texts and voicemail was left with no response. After waiting for 20 minutes with the car hazards on, on a main road, we decided to look around and parked in the Manor Estate...
