Enjoy the seclusion and quiet of your own peninsula with 3 way ocean views. A private stairway leads to gravel beach where you can witness the ebb and flow of the wondrous 20 plus foot tides ( highest in the U.S.) as you explore the shoreline and discover the hidden beaches tucked away against the granite and evergreen trees of the shoreline. Collect sea glass and shells, catch a sighting of a harbor seal, and watch sea gulls and bald eagles glide above the 250 meter wide deep water channel that separates you from bird sanctuary Roger's Island. This is a perfect retreat for writers, photographers,artists, musicians,( there is a Baldwin piano in the living room with a water view) ,families and anyone who seeks the privacy ,peace, and seclusion in a very pristine and beautiful setting.

Spring down east

This is our second stay at Birch Point and it was as great as the one last year. The house is clean and comfortable and the setting is perfect. Privacy and natural beauty of ocean views and wildflowers. We haven’t been to Lubec in the spring time before so we got to enjoy a whole different display of flowers wherever we went, including Campobello, than in the mid to late summer when we’ve previously visited. Lupines everywhere!Andy is great with communication and so is Brenda, his cleaner.

Maine Escape

The property and views were so much better than expected! We especially enjoyed the wicker recliners on the deck for watching the sea life and tides. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the location was great. Easy into town yet very private. We enjoyed our time at Birch Point and the Lubec area. Maine is a favorite vacation spot, and we will certainly look to return if our travels bring us north again. Thank you!

Many Rooms With A View...and Absolute Silence

A great deck to watch fireworks on the horizon in Eastport. The screen doors on both sides of the house allowed for a pleasant, cool breeze. A very quiet location...the only thing you will hear is the birds. If you want peace, quiet, solitude, and beachcombing...this is the place.

Private location

The house had an amazing view! It was private, quiet, comfortable and clean. We had plenty of room and enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the water. Plenty of things to do for outdoor enthusiasts. It is close to West Quoddy Head State Park which is an amazing hiking area to visit with an iconic lighthouse. Lubec is a quiet, small-town, but offers some great places to dine out if you don't feel like cooking. If you have your passport, you can drive to nearby Campobello Island and tour President FDR's summer "cottage." This a great area to escape tourist congestion and simply chill.

Perfect

The house was perfect, Andy was easy to communicate with and offered advise on some hiking trailsThe view in the morning with a cup of coffee was perfect, even had a cruise ship sail by Saturday morning Got to see a Bald eagle, several loons and even a harbor seal all while sitting on the porchSome people talk about a smell when you first get there, yes we noticed it at first but once the ceiling fans were turned on it went away The only down size is the town of Lubec does not offer much in food, but we had planned on cooking several days, so we went to Eastport on night and made the trip over to Acadia 2 morning. The local IGA has a good selection to choose fromWe did do a puffin tour on day as well with a company called Acadia Puffin Cruise, if you wanting to do this the owner Tricia was great and very affordable

Amazing View!

This was our second time staying here - this time for two weeks, which was just wonderful. As soon as we walked in the door, it felt like we had come home. This is a very bright, spacious, comfortable, clean home with amazing views of Johnson Bay, Rodgers Island, Eastport, and some of Cambobello island. Lubec is a quiet little fishing village so there is certainly less to do here than, say, Bar Harbor. But, there is still plenty to do, depending on what you like. The town itself has places to go for coffee, lunch, and dinner and it also has some fun shops. This is not a tourist town which, to me, is exactly its appeal. West Quoddy lighthouse and trails, Campobello, Machias, and Eastport are some of the great places to explore. The natural beauty that surrounds you in this home is amazing, and the quiet and peacefulness is what keeps us coming back.

Amazing Views of Bay with Peace & Quiet and Nature

We are an older couple who stayed for 7 weeks. This is a beautiful home with every amenity. We loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the view. You have 3 decks to choose from. Lubec is an adorable small town which is just across the bridge from Canada. There are hiking trails everywhere and the town is very dog friendly. We spent many days traveling around Canada via the ferry system and going to all the local festivals, museums and restaurants. Most of them involve a drive of at least 45 minutes each way. The scenery is breathtaking. Every evening we would have cocktails watching the sunset and the tide changes. The tidal differences were stunning. We loved watching all the different birds and ducks. Saw a large variety of birds including a bald eagle. You will love it.

Fabulous water views

Our group of 4 adults found this house to be a very comfortable base for a week of exploring, visiting Campobello, hiking, and eating seafood. Even with a couple of rainy days, we found plenty to do, including playing duets on the fine piano in the house. There is plenty of comfortable seating, light, and never-ending views. The stairs down to the shore are not for the weak, and on our first day, the shore was swarming with mosquitoes. Heavy winds took care of the mosquitoes later in the week. Our only complaint was that the lowest level of rooms is kind of musty and damp, leaving a sour smell in the bathroom. There is a large de-humidifying system but it couldn't completely take away the dampness during a rainy week.

Perfect Maine Setting, but...

Enjoyed our stay in Lubec very much. The view was terrific (especially the tidal change) and setting was serene. We experienced fog in the morning a couple times but otherwise sunny afternoons and cool nights . The Birch Point home was satisfactory, but could use some long overdue attention, e.g., newer towels and wash cloths, and replacing broken toaster and worn/dirty-looking rugs. Right arm dining table chair about to fall off. Some light bulbs burned out. Oh, and front door-nob lock sticks (did not always unlock from outside). The major disappointment though was that the lower bedrooms were very, very musty when we arrived. We had to air them out and burned scented-candles for several days to help the situation before the other couple arrived. I also cleaned the house of spiderwebs and spiders on the walls and in the corners. I really believe this rental could be exceptional if these issues were addressed.

This is my third stay at Birch Point and it won't be my last. The house was clean and had everything my family needed for a relaxing vacation. The view from the decks are stunningly beautiful and awe inspiring. I'm already planning for my 2026 return. Thank Birch Point for a fantastic time!

Beautiful Retreat - So Many Stars

This was our second time staying here, and we were right to come back. Clean house, lots of space, beautiful and quiet location. The decks are wonderful and the access to the shoreline is so special. We came to write, reflect, hike, swim (water is very cold, but short swims work) and rest, and Andy’s place is perfect for this. We live in a small city and have to travel to see this many stars at night, right down to the horizon. We’ve had many rentals in Lubec. This one tops the list.

Family vacation

The home was a perfect getaway. Quiet place with a beautiful view .My adult children and grandchildren had a great time exploring the area and playing games . a great place to gather and heal

Beautiful!

We had a lovely time in this beautiful home. The house is clean, spacious, and well-equipped. We grilled almost every evening on the deck and enjoyed walking along the water below. Lubec is quiet and low-key with a number of breathtaking hikes nearby. Andy was friendly and easy to communicate with and the check-in/out process was seamless.
