Stage 4 of the GR20 leaves the Asco ski station, heads up toward Monte Cinto, over Bocca Crucetta and down the other side to Auberge U Vallone. This photo was taken midway through the ascent to Bocca Crucetta. After a serious accident in 2015 when seven people were killed, the traditional stage four route through the infamous Cirque De La Solitude was rerouted to this stage four variant. Although this route is not nearly as difficult as the previous I still found it to be a long and strenuous
section.

"Wir sind nun schon zum dritten Mal in dieser Unterkunft, was alles aussagt. Von der Terrasse, teilweise überdacht hat man eine tolle Sicht ins Tal und auf das Meer. Es gibt zwei Kühlschränke (Terrasse und Küche). Neu ist auch ein gemauerter Grill. Was uns gefehlt hat, war ein großer Sonnenschirm für die Terrasse, jedoch hat man genügend Stellen auf dem Grundstück, um sich in den Schatten zurückzuziehen. "We had an excellent stay. Very luxurious house with good furniture, 2 bathrooms with a bath, 3 tv's with Netflix, fresh soaps. As a special welcome we received a bottle of Rose and a bottle of sparkling water, coffee and tea were available as well. Also Dominique gave us some fresh cherries! In addition there is a magnificent view of the valley. Overall a good value for money!"

"Pros: The garden and the mountain view and the well equiped kitchen Cons: The complicated communication via WhatsApp with the local host. The local host only spoke french. We speak a bit french, but the communication was not easy. There were only a small amount of toilet paper and no dishwasher tabs inside and we had to buy them on our own. We also think, that 30€ for only one small and two big towels and the bed linen is to much, especially if you use them for 10 days."
