"Lavender Lodge is a comfortable home away from home in a wonderfully quiet and private location. Even though next to the owners house, the lodge orientated to be nicely private with barely another property in sight. It contained everything needed for a comfortable stay and the bed is big enough to party in (also good for sleeping). The two friendly spaniels peering through the window to say hello were a bonus too."

"Clean and cheap, that’s about it. If you’re on a tiny budget then one night is ok but it has the feel of a doss house, the kitchen stank of dope being smoked in one of the side rooms. Security codes are ridiculously easy to guess."

"No signage at venue. Location and access only revealed via SMS message. But no indication of the need for a mobile phone (I entered a landline number, which was accepted - but useless.) I have serious doubts as to whether this arrangement (squeezing 10 so-called "double rooms" into a series of terrace houses) is legal."

"If this was my local pub, I’d be happy - lovely staff, friendly clientele, a fine dog and the food is acceptable ‘pub grub’ however.... the stay in ‘family room’ was not good. The room was upstairs in the pub and initially no key supplied as ‘nobody goes up here’. The room was akin to a store room with a couple of beds chucked in. There was an oversized old armchair blocking a chunk of room and a huge wardrobe which you couldn’t use as it was stuffed with Christmas decorations and a skeleton...
