"We stayed here for 1 nt whilst attending a wedding nearby. We loved this place. The room was spacious, clean and plenty of amenities. The breakfast was outstanding!!!! Pancakes and US style bacon with syrup, rivals the best that the US has to offer. If your considering staying here for any reason at all - you won't regret it. If you're travelling from the US (or anywhere overseas) and doing Hadrian's wall this is a beautiful accomodation that will be a highlight of your visit. I highly...

The Pheasant Inn

"It was first time I have stayed at an Inn in a very long time. The room was cosy and very clean with the bathroom being quite compact but clean and fully operational. The views from the room upon the Northumberland were very relaxing and picturesque. The breakfast service and evening service were amazing. Watch out for the porridge as that portion is very big yet super tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Throughout the whole thing I wished I could stay there longer. The...

The Reading Rooms
3.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (87)
"This is an amazing B&B that you can use as a base for exploring Hadrian's Wall. Brain & Gill are great hosts. The room is great with a kettle, tea and coffee. Breakfast is self-service, and you have a nice selection of cereals, fruit, juice, milk, bread, coffee, and tea. All that you need to get started. You can use the kitchen later in the day if you want to cook your own meals instead of the outside option. Fully recommend. "

Bridge House
3.0 star property
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (1)
"Cannot rate the Bridge House highly enough. The B&B is a stone's throw from the (best bit of) wall and 20 steps from a great little pub to watch the sun set. The room, bed, and shower were all perfect and the breakfast was the best I had all trip. What's more, the hosts clearly don't think twice about going above and beyond for their guests, making sure that I had ice for a nagging injury from the trail despite my late arrival. Just a rare level of hospitality. "

"We loved our stay here. After a horrible nine hour journey we were pretty miserable when we arrived. However, when we saw the cottage we were delighted! The pictures absolutely do not do it justice. It’s well maintained, clean and comfortable. The beds were super comfy too. We were delighted to see the goats out the front the next morning and raced out to chat to them 😀 The owners are really friendly and can’t do enough for you. If we can face the journey again we will be back and for longer! "
