"The hostel was open for barely three months when we stayed over. Everything was brand new, clean and smart. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, as were the shared restrooms. There is a beautiful terrace and the location is really terrific, just at the foothills of the university and incredible library."

"Really terrible hostel. Feels like an institution instead of a hostel. All common areas are closed so you're just paying for a bed. Breakfast is ok and the staff are very nice and pleasant. Beds are very shaky, no lockers in the rooms, no shelves for the top bunks, 1 outlet for 6 beds. "

"Isabel and Ema gave us a really warm welcome. We got an upgrade. The room was son meticulously arranged and the building is tastefully decorated. "The house is a beautifully redone schist structure in the center of Talasnal. All the comforts of home; nicely stocked kitchen, great fireplace (heated the whole house), comfortable beds, and nice hot showers. Great hikes just walking out the front door…although we did get lost the first day. Haha. Both Joao and Alda were super responsive and so helpful. Even offering to pick us up in Candal after our very long misplaced hike. Definitely purchase any supplies before arriving as the tiny Mercado...

"Staff was amazing!!! Arriving by car was a bit of a challenge but our stay was amazing!!! Loved the welcome champagne and cake, the in room hot tub, and delightful breakfast basket delivered to room. It was a five minute walk to the university and Machado museum and I highly recommend both!!!"
