"Came in the off season, and it was a complete bait and switch. Actual hotel was closed (including pool and restaurant (so no breakfast)). Placed us next door in tiny apartments. Manager gave us the key and left the property. First room had a broken toilet seat so moved us to another one. Staff spoke no English and didn’t understand that we need password for WiFi. Blanket on bed was wet. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but left the next morning."

"We loved our stay at this beautiful house. The location is excellent, making it very easy to drive to either side of Crete. Our host was fantastic and very friendly, helpful, and highly responsive. She also gave us great recommendations for places to visit around the island. The house itself is lovely and equipped with basic supplies for cooking in the evening, which was mostly suitable for our needs. We would definitely stay here again!"

"Excellent accueil de nos hôtes malgré une arrivée tardive. la maison est très propre et proche de la plage ( moins de 50 mètres).le village est calme largement fréquenté par les grecs et l’offre de restauration et de ravitaillement est bonne.J’insiste sur la gentillesse de nos hôtes ! "Fantastic location in heart of Matala. Hotel reception very helpful and assisted us with some printing. Breakfast adequate. Room ok handy to have a small balcony, very clean. Bar was a bit lacking - no-one to serve even though the bar staff were sat nearby and did not get up to serve me. When I came back 10 minutes later I got served. However when I tried to take my drink back to my room it was no-go, staff appeared from everywhere telling me I couldn't. So had to put my drink in a paper cup."

"Amazing place if you want traditional housing and don't mind mountainous roads and you plan to travel into town from the village for eating out. The one taverna that serves food only opens at 2000 and isn't open every day. When they are open though they have Amazing food and the waitress was amazing as well. There's places to get groceries if you want to cook for yourself."

"Very clean, bathroom was spotless. A few days before arriving, my flight changed to a later departure, so I knew I wouldn’t arrive until after 10pm. The staff responded to my message promptly and was very kind to leave a key and note for me to get in. No problems driving to the place at night. The room was simple, clean and comfortable except for the bed which was very hard. I went out early to explore and planned to have breakfast when I came back around 9am, but when I returned to the property there was no staff or breakfast to be found."
