We loved staying in the Gardener’s Cottage C1830. So quiet and was like stepping back in time. Great walking this historic estate, superb rose garden, farm buildings and convict history.

It had everything we needed. It was an old property (c.150yrs old) so it was never going to be state-of-the-art with underfloor heating, surround-sound disco-lighting (and it would have been awful if it was like that) but it catered for us perfectly, was quiet and comfortable.

We loved the estate. It was beautiful walking through the grounds and we loved the kitchen garden and the berry cage! Very special place. I just wish there was a little more money to spend
On the conservation of a world heritage site! I can’t imagine it lasting for
Another 50 years with such a light touch of upkeep.

Charm and history
This was an experience. Having the estate to ourselves and a few other guests out of hours was lovely - wander the gardens in peace and at sunset. The coachhouse is old - of course it is - it was built in the 1800's but lovely and with character. The staircase is steep and narrow - so if you have reduced mobility then probably not the best choice. The resident rooster happily woke us around 5am! but all part of the charm. We really enjoyed the House tour also as part of our stay and of course the Rose gardens at the perfect time of year. Everything on hand that you would need.

Easy to walk around property. All the houses and sheds are very well kept. Easy to read about the history of Woolmers . Will go back next time in Tassi
We stayed as a family with 2 children in the Coachman's cottage. Ample space, charming rustic experience in a period cottage. A stay at Woolmers allows you to self tour the property buildings and take a guided tour of the house which is itself a time capsule of Australian life. It was also a chance to give the children a history lesson!

Set within the secured parameters of the original 1817 estate, staying in the Cooper's Cottage was absolutely delightful. The self-contained accommodation was well-appointed and the amenities were excellent. Sitting by the fire was super relaxing and there was plenty of wood and kindling. The evening wildlife is so tame and the morning roosters are just priceless. The road to Longford was flooded, but there were groceries available in Evandale and Perth, as well as the longer drive around to Longford. It's unclear if the water is bore or drawn from the river, but it's worth noting that it is tinted orange and the Estate supplied 10 litres of drinking water. This place is absolutely super value for money, with one free Estate tour included with the accommodation and a very cheap option to extend into other tours too. We loved it and the flowers around our cottage were just delightful!

It was interesting staying on such an old Estate.
Accommodation in the former Blacksmith's cottage, given that right next door was an original unrestored building at present used for firewood, gave us an idea of what things must have been like all those years ago.
Our tour of the House was very informative - thank you, Helen. Our stay was very much enjoyed.
Lunch at the Nigel Peck Centre cafe was very good.
