RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #255 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles, fishing pier and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.

good spot for easy beach access

It had most everything we needed, maybe could use a few more kitchen items, but we got by. The living room needs a better reading lamp, but the furniture was comfortable, and the TV setup was nice. The beach access is the best thing about this resort. The complex was pretty quiet, and the pool was never very busy.

Pros: Location was great, right on beach. Nice pool, shuffleboard, mini golf. Cons: Unit was a bit dated, could use some new pillows and bedding. Refrigerator had water collecting in it, not a big deal and let staff know, but no one ever came to check on it. Overall a good stay at a great location.

Perfect location for us

We were looking for a nice beach getaway and this one didn’t disappoint. Super clean. Loved that beach chairs were provided and the beach wasn’t crowded at all. Also enjoyed the heated pool. We will be back. Only down side is the bed was extra firm. We will bring a mattress topper next time.

Great location

We had a nice spur of the moment stay at Silver Sands #255. Although the furnishings were a bit dated and worn, the unit was Clean and comfortable. We did have a few issues with AC and fridge, but the management was very helpful and immediately had someone up there to check it out. We loved the beach front convenience, heated pool, screened balcony and complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. Kitchen was nicely stocked for cooking. We loved the smallness of the place— lots of privacy and super quiet!

Very Pleased overall with this property. Check In was easy and staff was very polite and helpful. The grounds were well kept and the pool was clean with great seating. The room was clean and was perfect for the 2 of us. Comfortable bed and nice seating area and could see the ocean and pool from the Lanai. The parking can be tight if there are several vehicles in the lot. The washer and dryer for the complex is outside but under roof.

Ok so I had a family emergency the day I had to check in...I cannot say or share my experience...I never checked in or stayed...I asked for credit or a refund but got denied...its not the hotel's fault, they have rules they go by...I payed top dollar for a room the that I never stayed in, money lost on my behalf...Oh well...the front desk lady over the phone was very nice...I can't say anything else since I did not have experience with the property, hotel or room.

Fun on the Beach

Property was well maintained and easy to get around. Room was as described. Very clean and furnished nicely. Good view from the Lanai of the pool area and the ocean. The pool was very nice. Clean and warm. Not very busy while we were there so no crowds to deal with at the pool. We were just steps from the beach. The beach was very nice and there were several beach chairs to use from the resort. So many good places to eat or places to shop within minutes away. The only things that I wish were better were the parking area can be full and tight sometimes and the washer/dryers are outside under the 2nd floor walkway. I was very pleased overall and definitely would return.

Unit needs some maintenance--burnt out lights, missing window shadw slats resulting in minimal privacy, but it didn't bother us much. WOrst issue was paper thin walls--we could hear every word the neighbors said, knew what they were eating, and knew what was happening on all the TV shows they watched. And they weren't being particularly loud--just doing what normal people do. Weather was cold and thus we couldn't use the beach or pool, so didn't get value for the beachfront price we paid, but that's not their fault. For the price we paid, I'd go back if I knew the weather would be better and we were planning to hang around the beach/pool rather than explore the region. Probably bad planning on my part.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented unit #255 over the MLK weekend for a short getaway which is only the 2nd floor of the orange building of Silver Sands property. From reservation to checkin , the process was seamless. I received emails with confirmation and checkin process plus Ryan from the management property left me a message as well regarding where to pickup my keys should I arrive after office hours (which I did). I picked up my keys in the "After Hours" mailbox at the office with great instructions but had to stop in the office the next morning to sign a form plus give details of my car. Ryan who was in the office (the same Ryan who left me a voicemail the day before) was very professional and courteous.The unit is cozy, adorable and clean. Not too dated, well maintained (so is the entire property) and does not musty or old. Bed is comfortable and there were plenty of towels. We did not require any housekeeping as we were there for only two nights. Just a few steps away from the beach.The property is driving distance to St Armand's circle and some great restaurants. We will be back at this property.

Disappointing

I spent the weekend in this property along with my 15-yr old daughters and a niece. The biggest issues I had were inaccurate description of the property, lack of parking spots and very loud guests. The location is definitely the main plus but that was about it. The property is in urgent need of a deep clean/upgrade. The door separating the units was really bad because we could hear everything the next door neighbor was doing including a meltdown at 2:30 am. Guests were extremely loud and disrespectful, partying until 2 am. A large group was playing loud music on the beach and then they moved to the pool at night. They left lots of trash on the beach and even the locals were taking pictures in the morning. I was hoping a quiet weekend getaway but unfortunately it didn’t happen. The description says that chairs and umbrellas were provided but there were none. Why indicate something that you know it is not available. Parking was also a nightmare. After waiting 40 min for someone to move their vehicle so I could park I was afraid to leave the property and run into the same issue again. I reported the parking issue with the property manager and although they responded, the problem persisted. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and dirty. We were given only 1 beach towel per person for the entire weekend. Blind didn’t fully closed, tv remote had no batteries. Quite honestly this was my worst experience with vrbo.

Not as family friendly as the old days

Reviewer Comments: We have always visited the resort in the past which seemed to always be very family friendly and relaxing. I realize there will always be some music and a variety of people but this time there was a HUGE group partying all weekend which made our experience not as pleasant as previous years. They took up most of the beach with their tents and we could hear music late at night from our room. They were grilling and in the pool late and made it uncomfortable and when I say HUGE I am talking like 30 people! Although we made the best of the weekend and still met a great other family, it might be time to find another place to stay on Longboat Key.
