Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



    Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

Perfection

We really enjoyed out stay at Longboat Key, the property was perfect. Every morning looking at the ocean is amazing. Property was clean and well maintained. The pool was warm and relaxing. We enjoyed the lounge chairs provided on the beach. It was quiet and tranquil. We loved our stay

Great place to stay, however pull out couch needs attention. But we all stayed in king size bed which kids loved. But location and facilities were awesome. Thanks for letting us stay!!

Hidden gem

Old Florida vibe, but nice room, clean, great location. Not luxurious, but very nice for the price. Felt like we had our own private beach. Beach chairs and umbrellas provided was a nice touch. Room was clean, good layout, but could use a little update. First time in this area, it was absolutely beautiful! We’ll be back!

Beautiful Location for Laidback Vacation

We loved the view from our unit. There were always beach chairs available and lots of space on the beach. The marine life is wonderful to experience! It's great for families and no crossing streets to go to the pool or beach. Staff and guests were friendly. A few tweaks to the room, (updated, unsoiled sofa, drain plug that works for tub, dish drainer, kitchen sink stopper and baking pan), would improve the unit stay. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would like to return in the future with our extended family.

Good location. Dishwasher in need of repair. Large mirror leaning against back wall unsecured and could have posed a danger to children. Room looked nicer in photos tan in person.

Not as relaxing as we had hoped

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, the place was good. However, our room was Horrible. The bed was so high, that we had to use a step stool to get into it, but that wasn't the worse part. It was so hard it felt like we were laying on a hard floor. The pillows were long and flat, and hard just like the bed. Hoping to at least relax in the living room, the couch had about an inch of cushion and was also hard and very uncomfortable. There was only 1 comfortable chair in the entire place. The tub was very narrow to stand in and had glass doors, so it made it even more awkward. A walk-in shower would have been much better. Our friends had a much better room and if we ever came back, we would look for something more comfortable. The people next to us were very loud as if they were in the room with us. On the day of us leaving we found what I think were sound barriers hidden in the back of the closet. It would have been nice if we had been told there was such a thing.

I received emails telling me how to get keys and what to do since I was going to be a late arrival. Now I receive a review request. I request a REFUND since I was not able to be there and the place was not used. But I am sure that will go absolutely unnoticed! Get it together, people!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at the Silver Sands on several occasions. We stayed in this room a few times. This time we noticed that it definitely needs some updating. Need some TLC around it. Ceiling fan in living area. Light switch is not working. Plus it is damaged. Some Slants in windows going outdoor missing and will not close without pulling it shut. Bottom line it just needs to be given a critical eye look. Also, in the past, we have found the lounge chairs to be very good. This time most of them at the beach area were broken or definitely needed the rigging replaced. Also, the provision for umbrellas was nonexistent or damaged. This is very helpful for many of us who fly in and have no way to bring those things with us.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our room was not ready even after confirming it would be ready. Dishes were left dirty in the dishwasher, sand on the floors and the shower leaks on the bathroom floor. Pool and beach were great!

Great location/dirty condo

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was very dirty, dusty and dated. We had to cover the sofa throw pillows and chair with sheets. We had to wash all the dishes, silverware and cups before we can use them. We also had to wash the whole silverware drawer, the toaster and toaster oven. Margarette from the office was very accommodating and she herself dusted the Livingroom and sent someone to vacuum. We enjoyed the beach and the pool and would go there again but not unit 251

The condo is very family-friendly with a nice pool, grills, mini golf and beach gear. The rooms are nicely maintained and the staff were helpful.

Love Silver Sands

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Silver Sands. The property is not too big, great location, quiet!!! Very clean. Highly recommend!

Great access to a very quiet part of the beach. It is mainly residential north of the resort so there are very few people. Great for families with the pool, shuffleboard and mini golf. The unit is a bit older but has everything you need for vacation.
