"The plus side: Nice clean cottage, welcome basket with fresh bread, haribo sweets, wine. Flowers on table, tea, coffee, sugar and even treats for the dog. Sky/netflix. Bed very comfy. Nice white towels. Good communication from owner. 2 local pubs- the Nelson ...no food gd beer. Rising sun, pub grub. Both friendly pubs. negative side: Right on a very busy,noisy road. We could not work out why so many lorries etc cut through there. We did sort of get used to the noise except early...

"What a magical experience to stay on the grounds of Newstead Abbey! Gorgeous property all to yourself after hours, with loads of birds and natural beauty. The cottage is clean and comfortable, very quiet and relaxing. You will need a car. I hope to stay here again!"

"Absolutely perfect. Instructions are very clear , place was pristine . I was surprised at the size of the property as I thought it would be smaller . Good size bedroom,kitchen, living space and even the bathrooms was good with a rainfall shower and normal wand (I’m 6ft4 so that makes a difference ) very handy and detailed handbook helping you with any questions or queries. Communication was excellent from the host. Really pleased with my overall experience "

"Good central location for Matlock (not up a hill). Park very close for dog walking. Very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Car parking a bit tight as mentioned but ok for a average car - the drive in is easy, backing out slow but no real problem. Very nice stay esp. the easy short walk to all central pubs and shops, after a day walking in the surrounding hills."

"The cottage is very welcoming and is equipped with everything that you may need. It is very central to the lovely village with shops and pub almost within touching distance. The off-road parking is a boon although there was always space on the road if more than one car was used. "We stayed at The Lanes as we were attending a family wedding nearby at Haarlem Mill. It totally exceeded expectations. Firstly, and very importantly for me, it was absolutely spotlessly clean. I am extremely sensitive to dust and so typically staying anywhere away, my dust allergy will be set off. Absolutely no issue at The Lanes as everything was beautifully clean.
