"Hawkeye motel in Washington, Iowa is a great value. Management is doing a great job renovating the facility and are very responsive to guests needs. Located on the west side of town, it is on the main drag and easy to find, just north of the railroad bridge. Washington, Iowa is a classic midwestern town with lots of history. The airport has two runways and usually very competitive fuel prices."

"Easy to find and check in. The apartment was historic, and the art was beautiful. The place was clean, felt like home immediately, was well maintained, and kitchen and bathroom amenities were bountiful. Internet wifi was fast (I had to upload large video files and did so quickly). I appreciated the communication prior to check in, and the written instructions and local tips in the host's guide book. Downtown was a quick 8 minute walk and very safe for female traveling alone. There are several great options for eating and shopping in the downtown area, including vegetarian food at the Mexican restaurant and Ethiopian lunch at the conference hall. The only complaint was the sound of a child running and jumping upstairs after 8:00 PM, which I would have expected if I had known a family with young children lived upstairs in the old house with wood floors. However, if one is used to that, it is a perfect stay!"
