Beautiful house on private estate with hot tub, nature and adventure.

"House itself is in need if a little TLC Didn't stop us from having a brilliant time here.The "hot tub" has to heated with logs, which are provided, left to heat for about 1 hour before going in. Water is brown, dirty looking, from tap but drinking water is provided. Loved the holiday. Host was very helpful and friendly. Dogs were very friendly as we're the horses and sheep. One thing we did miss were mats in the shower as one of the ladies slipped and fell in shower, gave herself a really sore bottom and back. Overall we Loved it. "

"Really great cottage for peace and quiet and too enjoy nature, we were constantly surrounded by the resident house martins and swallows! Loads to do in the area. The only bad thing was the midges in the evening but I don't think it was that bad by Scottish standards!"

"A lovely house in a wonderful setting. Plenty of room for 7 adults and 2 dogs. Plenty of seating in the front room but every chair is past its best. It is a dog friendly cottage but there isn’t a private garden so our dogs had to be kept on lead at the front of the property because of sheep with lambs. There is a small paved area round the back where you can sit out and watch them off lead but it is a bit overgrown. We were delighted to see hares, red kites and deer from the window and it is possible to have a short walk in the grounds."

"We loved our time here with our two labradors. A fully fitted luxury cottage in a great location, it feels quite off grid which suits us, but excellent Wi-Fi. Good short walks on the farm surrounded by nature and lovely pigs and sheep, well placed for exploring Galloway. Run by a friendly and helpful couple."

"We booked to stay for a week, hoping that family could join us, but sadly that was not to be. So just me and him!! The cottage is very isolated- down a long rough track, but once there there are sheep aplenty, pigs, chickens, horses and hares to keep you company!! Oh and duck and bees, plus a barn owl sighting (if you are lucky). It is an idyllic situation but a trip to get milk is a 40 min round trip.My advice is to come well stocked, the kitchen is well appointed and there is a freezer. In good weather take advantage of the bar-b-q, in colder times snuggle by the log burner with a red wine (we did, and it was JUNE). There are a few restaurants near by. Gather at Laggen was the better of the two we tried, but the hassle of getting there was not rewarded by the experience.....For those wanting beach and country walks, garden visits and stunning scenery this is a great base. If you like birds, bring binoculars, or go to Threeve castle where helpful volunteers will point out the nesting ospreys.there is no phone signal but excellent wi-fi."
