"This is an interesting place! The room was clean and comfortable, you just need to bring your own toiletries. The property has a lot of space to lounge and hang out, including nice outdoor tables to enjoy the sunset, and even has an indoor shuffleboard table. The staff was very nice and will make you eggs for breakfast. The property was great for hiking in Snowdonia. The property has a bit of a long driveway so it's not very walkable to restaurants/food stores but it's a very short drive to get food. "

"My stay at The Oakeley Arms Hotel in Blaenau Ffestiniog was truly the highlight of my time in Wales. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcome—friendly, attentive, and even greeting me by name (perhaps I stood out as a solo female traveler!). Their warmth and hospitality set the tone for the entire visit. The hotel restaurant was an unexpected delight. Coming from the U.S., I was blown away by the quality, flavor, and generous portions of every meal. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious—so much so that I felt guilty not finishing it all! Be sure to leave room for dessert; each one is divine and worth the indulgence. My room had a comfortable single bed that was perfect for me. The space was surprisingly large and the bathroom was lovely—clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully appointed. Thank you, Oakeley Arms, for such a wonderful experience. You made this solo traveler feel right at home. I can genuinely say this was my best stay in Wales!"

"We stayed at this lovely hotel in April. We had 2 small labs with us. We could not take them into the bar or restaurant, but that was NOT a problem. The team were wonderful with us and our dogs. They went above and beyond for us. They made us up a beautiful table in the library and served us drinks, breakfast & a wonderful dinner there along with our labs. The service, food and hotel were lovely. It made our stay very enjoyable. Thank you guys"

"If you’re looking for a historic experience while visiting the castle, you can’t get better than this Inn. It’s obviously been modernized, but eating downstairs has such a tavern feel to it. The portions are huge and the food is delicious especially the welsh pie and soups. Within the castle walls, you’ll have an array of local shops and pubs to frequent after touring the castle. Enjoy a walk along the water. As others have mentioned, there are stairs and it can be a bit of a maze to get to your room. I was worried but this actually did not bother me. As long as you can lift your suitcase up stairs, you’ll be fine. "

"We were running late and I called and told them that we were going to be later than expected and the girl was so nice she told us that it was okay they were going to wait for us, we finally got there after 11pm and they were there waiting for us, she said they were concerned because of the road and it was raining and misty, they were so nice and friendly and the gentleman helped bringing our luggage upstairs. I give them 10/10. "
