"Ideally placed, a short stroll along the canal into the city centre, great for the bus station. Our room was in the annex over the canal facing a busy road, it was a big room, comfy with tea/coffee toiletries etc. We live on a fairly busy road so the noise didn't bother us, but if you want peace and quiet I'd suggest an upgrade to a canal facing room. Breakfast was good, a great selection. I would definitely stay here again."

"A stunning property. The attention to detail in the decor is beautiful and it really elevates the ambience of your stay. Dog friendly which is unexpected given the quality of the interior design, but a welcomed one. The room is spacious with all needs accounted for (iron, air con, mood lighting). The foods in Nelson's is excellent quality with a nice option of choices with big portion sizes. The gardens on the grounds are well maintained and add to the property. Overall a beautiful hotel. "

"Excellent stay as usual. Staff are very well trained and deliver excellent service. There was an issue with our aircon and they weren’t sure how long it would take to fix so they moved us to an equivalent room with no trouble or hesitation at all. The hotel and grounds are immaculate, the cleaning and gardening staff must work very hard. We’re only down the road in Liverpool, but try and pop over to doubletree Chester a couple of times a year for special occasions."

"We stayed at the Holiday Inn at the Albert Dock was a great stay. Buffet breakfast was cooked perfectly and plentyful. Beds very comfortable. The room was clean and rooms cleaned daily. Staff very friendly and helpful. Shout out to Sandra the cleaner!! Just one negative, we wasnt informed in advance of a new 'holiday tax' that is charged nightly by hotels.com and had to pay it when we checked in. Hotels.com should inform their customers of any extras etc."
