The district of Mouraria is a typical neighborhood in Lisbon being known as the birthplace of “Fado”. It was in Mouraria that Severa, the first Fado singer known in Portugal, lived in the nineteenth century and where Mariza, considered the most international Portuguese Fado singer of the present time, grew up.
