About this property
Welcome to our Waterfront Cabin in Northern, Maine. A great place to relax!!
Our cabin is right on the water and has a nice deck that sits right on it. The cabin sits right on the point so you really can’t any neighbors while you are there. The place is extremely relaxing and quiet. There is a PORTA POTTY as the cabin is right on the water, we have not been approved for a bathroom. The water in the is crystal clear, 40 feet derp in the middle, but the sandy swimming area goes out gradually so it is great for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, jet skies, fishing etc. The pond has brook trout, salmon, bass and pickerel in it. It has a sandy bottom with a gradual grade which is great for swimming. The cabin is located of a quiet gravel road and the public boat landing is across from the pond. There is usually a couple if loons around the pond and a family of ducks. There is plenty room in the cabin, a queen bed, and 3 twin beds upstairs, and a full size bed downstairs. There is also a bunkhouse with a queen bed and a twin bed.
There is electricity in the cabin with a small kitchen. There is an outdoor shower, which is enclosed and works quite nice. There will be a porta potty on the property and it is kept clean, There is hot running water in the cabin, which is pumped in from the lake, but it is not drinkable The property is very close to ATV trails and the road is an access road for ATVs. We are a few minutes away from the town of Lincoln, Maine, with restaurants, and shopping. There is a Walmart, hannaford supermarket, gas stations and Dunkin’ Donuts There is cell phone reception here and WIFI as well as ROKU for the TV We look forward to you using the cabin and enjoying the pond. It is extremely peaceful. We will keep the camp stocked with soaps, shampoos, towels etc so you can spend more time enjoying yourself. We have a gas grill on the back deck and lots of spices up there for grillers Feel free to use the 4 kayaks, 5 paddles, and life vests. The water that we use for cleaning dishes, showers etc comes from the lake, so it isn’t drinkable, there is plenty of hot water though for showers There is cell phone service at the camp Usually one or two bars We use fragrance free, hypoallergenic detergent when washing laundry and this is type of soaps we leave. We wash all bedding and towels with a commercial washer and dryer, so it is always clean. We hope you have a wonderful time at Hemlock Point Camp, Sincerely John & Elizabeth

We had such a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was very clean when we arrived. The owner was there to greet my husband and son who arrived before my daughter and I. The outside was our favorite part. The deck with the table and lounger was so nice and having the dock right off that and the stairs that go right into the water was perfect. Its such a peaceful ralaxing place to stay. We hope to go back again soon!
A lovely rustic camp on a quiet lake. You can't get any closer to the water. Sitting on the covered porch you could hear the water hitting the shore under your feet. All amenities were spot on we only left the camp once to get some groceries. We can't wait to go back again.
Our stay at John’s camp was amazing! Everything was exactly how it was stated in the listing. Our kids loved the kayaks and lake (absolutely stunning views of sunrise and sunset) The was plenty of space for all of us- we will happily be back next year!
We loved this little cottage! We fished, kayaked, Canoed, swam and floated the week away :) My husband and kids caught lots of fish (hint - collect muscles around dock and use as bait). We loved the bunkhouse, it was so nice to wake up next to the lake. The location was perfect and surprisingly private. John was great host and always answered my texts promptly. We can't wait to go back!
The location of this property was wonderful. We wanted peace and quiet and that was what we got. Had a couple of great fires in the firepit. The covered porch was great when it rained a couple of times. You can sit out there and not get wet at all. All in all a very relaxing week!
You drive down a lane of hemlocks to find the cabin right on the lake, nestled between the birch and fir and rocks of the bank. John is such a helpful guide and the 5 minute tour sets you up to know everything you need to know about the stay. Folks boat and jetski and fish on the lake, but the scene stays peaceful and serene from sun up to sun down - the sunsets are unreal, the lightning storm I saw was incredible, and if you can, you should definitely catch the night sky. I didn't want to leave and was completely refreshed when I did! Many thanks to John for making such a beautiful space available to share!
My daughter and I had a very relaxing 10 day stay at Hemlock Point. The camp is quite private, and the lake is cool, clear and refreshing. The dock is sturdy, the covered porch a wonderful place to watch the water. There were some tubers and pontoon boats, on weekends mostly. We enjoyed the fire pit a few nights while watching the moon grow full. The Porta Potty is what it is, a bit inconvenient but what you get here. There are all conveniences 15 minutes away in Lincoln. John is quick to respond.
We cannot say enough about the loveliness of the outdoor living areas and view from all around this cabin! (The cabin is on a point, so you can see the lake from three sides - really spectacular!) The camp has close neighbors on both sides, but we were shocked at how private everything seemed! The outdoor shower is charming and spacious - it even has fantastic water pressure! Whether you are here with just 1-2 adults or a family with kids of all ages, you'll find there's plenty of room to relax, enjoy the water (which was warmer than the pond name implies!), and connect. (And everyone will have a comfortable bed with clean linens!) Having a port-a-potty is not for everyone, but it was well stocked, pumped out on Tuesday during the week and had a conveniently placed motion sensor light nearby for nighttime use. Also, in true Maine fashion, there's no fancy electronic entry or lockboxes - we were met by the owner in person and had a delightful, quick tour of everything! Remember to bring your own water (as the water inside is pumped infrom the lake) but the owner graciously provides a few gallons in the refrigerator to help get you started!

Good and bad
The cabin wasn’t clean; there were dirty dishes in the cupboard, hole in screen that allowed bugs to invade our sleeping space.
Once we figured out where they were getting in we just kept that window closed. The porta john
Had lots of webs in the corners. Once we hosed it down and cleaned it it was better but not my cup of tea having no bathroom. But that’s what we signed up for.
The property sits right on the water which was amazing! Our private dock is where I spent most of my time just relaxing and reading. It was heavenly. Kayaking the pond was delightful! Our dog LOVED the crystal clean pond and hubby spent most of his days in the water on his float.
So if you don’t mind roughing it out for your stay and don’t mind brushing your teeth at the kitchen sink (as there is no bathroom except for the porta john), this might be a stay for you. The owner was very personable and greeted us when we arrived. Thank you.
The perfect place to find peaceful days and nights. It is very quiet. Swimming, kayaking, basking in the sun. At night we had camp fires, cooked our meals on the grill, played board games. An old fashioned camp stay that took me back to my childhood memories of simply living in the moment. Fishing was one of my highlights. Never caught a thing and I didn’t care; I was fishing. The young boy with us did. His first! You’ll need to bring your own gear to fish. Loved the outdoor shower! Sitting out on the lovely porch or out on the deck listening to the ducks quacking as they fly above, priceless. The whole camp site is nothing but rustic. That is the charm of this camp. The first thing I fell in love with was the side screen door “slams”! It is not that loud by any means, but for me, every camp should have a screened door that is a bit loud when it shuts.!!The Perry’s keep their property extremely clean. You have no concerns there. Keep the back door light on at night if you need to use the port-a potty. They have lights leading to it tho; you should have no problem. I suggest to leave a light in the porta potty during the night. As there is no light in there. I will most definitely rent this camp again!
My husband dog and I, very much enjoyed the camp. So peaceful. We ended up getting up there later than planned. John waited for us. He was so kind and helpful. My car ended up having issues and needed to be fixed. I texted John. He sent me to a garage in Lincoln. They were so nice.
The lake is clean and clear. So beautiful. I enjoyed fishing while my husband relaxed in the lake. John also told us about some good fishing and walking places.
The camp has all you need for cooking and eating. Pots, pans, cups, silverware, plates, bowls, etc. We enjoyed cooking.
At night we watched movies or had a fire.
We had some nice walks on the road at the camp.
It was so relaxing and peaceful all week. We had one clear night. Oh my goodness, the stars were incredible!
One of our favorite things about the camp is the shower. Its so different and unique.
On our last day is when Lee the hurricane came by. It was windy and rainy but not like on the coast. I was enjoying watching the lake before it was time to head back down the coast.
We hope to stay here again.
Thank you,
Jill, Tom, Jasper
Great time. Place was amazing. The swimming was great for young ones that came to visit and the dogs. Adult son loved the bunkhouse to himself. Outdoor shower was a hit! Port-a potty was clean and emptied during our stay. Can't wait to go back! Host was very helpful and greeted us our first day to show us the ropes.
This place was amazing! Very clean, comfortable and quiet.. The host John was very attentive and checked in at one point to make sure everything was OK… Great place, highly recommended
We enjoyed our weeks at this location. Water was perfect for swimming and getting into remote country or into town was a short distance! We would recommend to families!
Our stay was wonderful in every respect. The cabin with its dock was lovely. The Perry's were kind and thoughtful in every way. We would not even consider staying in another place if we are in that area of Maine.
