"Upon arrival the owner met us and unlocked the front door to reception, not friendly at all, we were told restaurant was available only for breakfast which was too late for us as we were catching a ferry. We were told to always use the back door for access, as front door would be locked, strange for a hotel, but the most annoying thing was the look on her face , she looked at us like we were a piece of dirt from under her shoe, unbelievably rude to say the least. "This is a fantastic place to stay prior to an early morning channel crossing. The hotel really is lovely, as are the reception staff. The rooms are clean, modern and very comfortable, and the hotel parking at the rear is very convenient. We chose not to eat/drink at the hotel and instead walked into the town. It's a fair walk to the centre, but it's worth it as there are plenty of lively bars and large selection of restaurants. We had a great final night before coming home to the UK."

"Returned to this hotel after a very nice experience 3 years ago. The hotel staff and the hotel itself are fantastic. Sadly, the restaurant lets it down. We had dinner at the restaurant, and the food was terrible and overpriced. The restaurant staff were quite rude and unhelpful, including the one at breakfast. So, if you are just staying at the hotel, this is great. But don't waste your money on the restaurant."
