"The check-in process was not so great (no one was at the property and I couldn't get anyone on the phone for ~30 min) but once we were able to get a hold of someone the rest went smoothly. We went in October which I guess is low season as it seemed we pretty much had the entire property to ourselves. The room is beautiful - the bathroom with both shower and bath is spacious; the kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stovetop, oven and dishwasher; and the patio has a table for dining outside....

"I honestly don’t understand how anyone rated it less than 5! We had such a wonderful experience—from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. Shoutout to Mylann, who greeted us at reception, checked us in, gave us excellent recommendations, and even walked us to our room! Our room, while simple in decor, had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. It was clean and well-furnished. Housekeeping was done daily to an excellent standard, and the linen was changed every day—which we didn’t expect but truly appreciated. The facilities were fantastic! We loved the indoor heated pool, hammam, and sauna. Although children are only allowed between 9 and 11 a.m., when I couldn’t get through on the phone to book a spot, the staff were kind enough to let my son stay until 11:30. My husband and I really enjoyed the gym, basketball courts, and tennis courts as well. Breakfast was excellent and constantly replenished. So, either other people’s reviews were harsh, or Le [hotel name] has really taken feedback on board—because we had nothing short of an exceptional experience and would happily return again and again!"

"Everyone at the hotel were a delight and ready to help with whatever was needed. I stayed here for a long business trip and will most likely do so again. Quiet, comfortable, and within easy access to the center of town. Don't overlook the hotel's restaurant and bar either."

"This is a beautiful property - we just stayed one night passing though but it was quite memorable. We dined at the gastronomique restaurant and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was very helpful and kind and gave us a lovely tour of the property. "

Short-term rental just outside Aix en Provence

Lovely family, information missing from listing

"The hosting family (parents and kids) were lovely, very communicative, and offered us coffee/etc. to chat which was very kind. However, future guests should be aware that this rental is not fully for guests- you will actually be in two bedrooms in the basement of this family's house while they are also living there, and the gorgeous pool and patio in the pictures is in front of their living room. The listing even says "rooms open to patios", and this could not be further from the case. We were hoping for a sunny, quiet, private weekend just outside of town, and nothing in the listing indicates that this is a shared house (which could be completely fine for some folks, just isn't what we were looking for!). Also, there was food in the bathroom trash can that was not taken out and there were two cockroaches around it, which I'm sure was just an oversight, but didn't make us feel any better about being in a dark basement unexpectedly. The neighborhood was quiet, only 10-minutes drive from Aix, beds were comfy and shower hot, and again the owners were so so kind if you're looking to hang out with a local family that would be great, but this listing should be updated to include the fact that it is a basement of a shared space."
