"Rooms were small and cozy with enough storage for your ski stuff without it being under your feet. Location very good indeed. Breakfast was disappointing with a slightly chaotic feel to it at peak times. Didn’t appear to be enough staff and there was no element of service. This put us off having dinner at the property so we went and dined out locally. Sauna and steam room very basic but functional. Slightly disappointed for what we paid compared with other ski hotels, albeit in other resorts."

"Stayed at Hotel Marielle for three nights for a Spring snowboarding trip with my teenage son. Location is excellent right on the snow front with ski in ski put directly to the main lifts in Val Thorens. Reception, restaurant and bar staff were friendly professional, knowledgable and most importantly helpful and really made the stay a real pleasure. Room was spacious and clean and had a great view of the snow front. The terrace bar below does play music late afternoon till about 6 or 7 which adds...

"This hotel is a practical ski hotel on the slopes. Generally, it is fine, it has a good

and the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was catastrophically bad. In addition to this we had a very surreal experience when there was veal on the menu and we were instead served turkey. Staff argued at length that it was veal. I have never had such an experience in my life before. The senior staff went to great lengths to make up for it but the food was really terrible every day....

though. Note that it's located in Meribel Mottaret which sits higher than Meribel Centre (a quick 10 minute free bus ride away). Very easy to get to the other resorts like Val Torens. "

"Had an amazing stay at the altapura, read a few reviews a few days before we went and were worried, but it was great. Main complaints were about how hot the rooms were, which were understandable, but opening the window solved that. The other critique we read was about the restaurants and choice of food for half board. Breakfast was buffet and had a great selection. Dinner you get 65 euros contribution each evening towards food, which you can choose from the menu of the 3 different restaurants they have. European, Japanese and a cheese place. The food is all cooked fresh and to a great standard. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the hotel is in my opnion in the perfect location, ski in skin out, not far from several ski lifts, but not in thr centre of town so you don't get all the noise and footfall. Beds were really comfy, overall had a great experience and will be back next year! "
