"A really great place to spend a night or two. A budget hotel so rooms are compact, with limited in room facilities. However, lovely staff, great WiFi, breakfast if required. Hot drink facilities in the cafe area to help yourself and the bonus of this was being able to make my tea with fresh milk! I would definitely stay here in preference to a Travelodge or many Premier Inns, but don't share the secret!"

"I’ve booked two standard for a trip in April 26. On arrival, we were given a family room and informed that that was the last room they had available. Entry into the room electrics in did not work it was cold with one bed settee prepared and a double bed. Upon complaint and insistence that our original booking was two standard. And given our health condition that’s the reason we chose the option after a healthy discussion and pointing out our health needs. An indicating that “Grand” should be dropped from “ The GrandHotel. As the price is charged did not show the services and the quality of the room. We were given the two standard bedroom that we booked for originally. It was explained that the Hotel was going through renovation and had limited option to offer. Considering our booking was done in April and our day was in October 26. There was no prior warning of any changes until we arrived at the hotel. Next day we had a nice breakfast thanked the manager and left. If we’re given the original booking initially We would’ve had a pleasant experience and a positive regard for the desk staff. Be mindful, it’s old Hotel going through renovation an updates to modernise."
