We were not prepared for how much the beds would be slanting and difficult to sleep in. The floor of the room was very up and down, but there was no leveling platform underneath the bed, so we spent each night sleeping at a most uncomfortable angle, trying not to fall out of bed. The musician in the bar on Saturday night was directly under our room and we could not sleep until 10pm, which with jet lag was not helpful. Very friendly staff and great breakfasts, however.

It’s a real pub, so smokers and drinkers in the courtyard as we were shown to our room. Spotless and allowed to enter it early as it was ready for us. Staff were very welcoming and the choice and quality of breakfast was excellent.

This hotel has a lovely outside seating area with easy access for some of the rooms. Breakfast is lovely with lots of choice. Our room no8 was perfect for both of us and our dog. Lovely bed, towels and shower etc

The hotel is nice but there was a significant amount of damage to the shower that had been patched over years and a lot of black mould from very poor cleaning. Breakfast was mostly good although the eggs Benedict wasn’t so good.

Lovely old inn, plenty of character. Rooms clean, nice bed linen and towels. Lovely breakfast and staff very friendly. Air-conditioning would have been appreciated but wasn't expected and really is seldom needed in the UK. Pleasant to sit in the beer garden for drinks and snacks.

Good value. Great position. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the beer , light supper & breakfast. Decent tea & coffee in the room. Hot tap loose in the on- suite, however room was clean & cosy. No parking but able to park by roadside not too far from the Inn. Would stay again.

Fantastic staff! Bedroom was big and roomy, clean, well decorated and all amenities included. Only negative is that there is no parking but we were aware of that and there is a public car park literally a 100 yards away. A special mention to the breakfast staff who were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend and would stay here again.

Lovely stay in this 400 year old building with all its quirky characteristics. Obviously you cannot expect the modern look and feel of ‘normal’ hotels…this has charm and character. Minor issues would be the rather drab colour of our bedroom….no other option than sugar in the bedroom, we would like sweeteners….a little mould on the shower tiles needs attention.

Lovely clean room. I had arranged previously for my booking to be changed from a double to a twin room, and this had been with no problem at all. The building is fascinating, being 500 years old. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, and the breakfasts were excellent. We stayed there over Christmas, and a particularly thoughtful touch was the Christmas stocking left outside the room door for us!

The room was very clean,but it was rather cold as it had only a convector heater-Not enough warmth and heat,hence the condensation on the windows. Shower and extactor Fan were excellent. The food,drink and the service were very good.
