We had a wonderful experience at this property! With proximity to the cross-country ski trails and snowmobile rentals, this spot next to the river was a very convenient base location for our winter activity play.

The cabin has cool architecture and plenty of rooms for our group of 8. We enjoyed the views of the river - which the house makes good use of. The kitchen met our needs for making meals and we appreciated the extra space heaters for when it got cold at night. Of the places we have stayed in this area it was our favorite! We hope to return in the future.

Amazing house in an incredible location. Room for the whole family. Fun little nook for the kids. Plenty to do nearby with Leavenworth and Lake Wenatchee made for a great winter retreat. Even had a garage for the car to avoid being covered in snow!

We had an incredible time and the house was beautiful and very well stocked with everything you would need! The river view was stunning and the hot tub so relaxing. Thank you for such a lovely location to come back to after our very busy days!

We could not have had a better time. Family was sad to leave such a comfortable and well decorated cabin. Had everything we needed more and provided a great place to hang out when we weren’t out and about five stars all the way and love the hosts accommodations and considerations.

This house was great - the kitchen had everything we needed and more (unlike many rentals this was a joy to cook in). We loved the hot tub and being by the river. The house was very close to the center of Plain - which was handy but we didn't realize that when we booked. The beds were comfortable - the bunk room and the little bedroom are connected from the loft. We're already planning on returning!

Our stay was really excellent. The Vrbo is decorated so nicely and has nice amenities. I would say this would be better for a family or less than 8 adult friends. The bunk bed is just not optimal for adults and the twin bed in that same room is quite small. Overall it was a wonderful cabin and jumping off point for skiing and Leavenworth.

This house had literally everything! The location was perfect. Ten minutes from Lake Wenatchee and 20 minutes from Leavenworth downtown. The views were even better than the pictures as was the house itself. It was beautifully remodeled with decks everywhere to enjoy the gorgeous river view and perfect space for our extended family of 8. I have never stayed at a rental that had everything we needed from shampoo to garbage bags. The bedrooms worked out perfectly for our group and the beds were very comfortable with air conditioning in all the bedrooms. My husband is the cook and he loved the kitchen with the gas stove and everything you could want for cooking. We tried hard to find something that could be improved and we came up short. This house was one of the best rentals we have ever stayed at and we will be coming back next year for our annual trip to Leavenworth. This house was perfect for us!

We just finished our second stay at this house and we had more fun this time than last. The layout is unique and great for our kids in their early teens. The owner is very communicative and helpful. She answered all of our questions promptly. We would strongly consider staying here again should we return to the area.

We had the most amazing summer vacation enjoying the Blackburn River House with friends! The natural beauty of this setting must be seen to be believed. This cabin, located on the banks of the Wenatchee River, is very recently restored with architectural beauty to match the surrounding scenery. The hosts, who manage the property directly (no property management middle man), spare no expense to ensure guests have a memorable and comfortable experience. Amenities are upscale and stylish without being pretentious. This cabin is equal parts shiny new construction and restored rustic throwback. Highlights of our stay: - Enjoying the views of the Wenatchee from the wrap around multi-level decks. Despite the constantly sunny weather, we were able to find a shady spot at all times. - Cooking, hot tubbing, spinning records, and playing the guitar provided for guests. - Exploring the immediate area. The town of Plain is a hidden gem, and the hardware store is a glorious little hole in the wall. Plain Cellars wine tasting is a must. The market has all the essentials. You never have to leave the town, but you should… - Venturing out to nearby attractions. Leavenworth is a scenic and authentic replica of a German village with great brews, wines and restaurants. Lake Wenatchee offers a myriad of activities framed by majestic mountains.

Where to start. The location was walking distance to the plain stores, directly on the river, next to beach access, private, quiet and well off any main roads. The house was even better. Appointment, amenities and cleanliness was top notch. Waking up every day with the sound of the river and so much of the river in view was un beatable. The Peloton, kids play space and toys were such a nice touch. Kitchen had all the spices, hardware and cooking needs. And the communication and attention and consideration was unlike any other rental. Planning on making this an annual trip before this becomes booked year round. Great memories made here.

Kristina's property is everything she advertises it as. Furthermore, as a host, Kristina was responsive to our questions. If we are ever in the Leavenworth area again, we hope to stay here.

Pros: 1. Beautiful view of the river and nice deck. 2. Excellently appointed kitchen with all kinds of tools, appliances, crockery and cutlery. It was a wonderful experience cooking there, comparable to our own homes! 3. Hot tub was fabulous and a great way to relax after the kids went to bed. Cons: 1. Bedrooms upstairs don't have central heating and it was pretty cold, especially for the baby and toddler. As a result, we left a day earlier because our child had difficulty sleeping 2. We were told that the house was suitable for young children but we didn't find that to be the case - no high chairs (until we asked for one), baby gates, the rooms didn't have dark curtains or blinds, the bathrooms didn't have lined trash cans or even lids (we had to use trash bags from the kitchen to collect dirty diapers). The house was filled with items that unsupervised children could easily hurt themselves with 3. Peculiar placement of exterior camera watching the hot tub. Although the lid of the hot tub prevents the camera from capturing footage of people in the tub, it feels creepy to know that you could be watched taking off your robe and wearing your bathing suit. We've stayed at other places with hot tubs and have not experienced this 4. Host had multiple strange requests, including asking us to haul their trash cans from the street and then put them back out on the street, separate their white from colored bed linens and towels and run a load of laundry for them (beyond just stripping the bed, which is typical) Overall, for the steep price, it didn't deliver the experience we were hoping for. For that price, we would have rather stayed at a premium hotel, which is what we will do next time.

We absolutely loved this place! Easy drive from Seattle. Seamless check-in. Great communication with hosts. We arrived to a beautiful cabin with gorgeous new finishes, appliances, laundry, etc. Clean as can be. We split our time between having cocktails / spinning records by the crackling fire and relaxing in the outdoor hot tub. Enjoyed a day of snowmobiling (5 mins away) and skiing (30 mins away). And how awesome is Plain Cellars…the winery next door. Killer vacation…can’t wait to see the place in the summer. Did I mention it’s RIGHT on the river. Amazing.

Us and two other couples — one with a child — rented this beautiful cabin in Plain, Wash. in January. Kristina was a fantastic host, very responsive and thoughtful. This cabin is more beautiful than it shows in the images. Perfect location next to the river, close to Plain to grab groceries, right next to great XC, skate skiing and snowshoeing trails. (Also a quick drive to Lake Wenatchee and Leavenworth.) The bedrooms are great - and the loft was a joyous place to hang out and play games for the little on in our group. Kitchen is incredibly stocked with all the amenities and appliances to make dinner. It's a beautifully designed cabin and incredible views. We are planning on booking it again this summer.

My family descended on this river cabin desperate to get out of our house for a few days. The river house was exactly what we needed! We spent time indoors tackling puzzles, sitting by the fire, sharing meals together, listening to music (finally a short-term rental with a nice sound system!), and getting much-needed rest. We also used the hot tub daily and explored the property, fished in the river, and generally enjoyed all that space around us. It was so fun to be close to skiing, sledding and amazing views. It was honestly difficult to come home to our house after such amazing accommodations. The kitchen is brand new and very well stocked for anything you want to cook. We loved the convenience of having a Peloton at the house, too, so we could work out during kids' naps. We cannot wait to get back to the river, and couldn't say more great things about the wonderful hosts, Kristina and Andy, who were always one step ahead of us--notifying us in advance of every detail we needed to enjoy our stay. Their good taste makes this place what it is. You won't find another vrbo this dialed in.

This cabin is beautiful. Right on the river (the view is gorgeous.) My sister, her family, my mom, and my son & I all had a wonderful time. My sister said, "this kitchen stocked better than any place we have ever tried." The owners were very responsive whenever we had questions. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone considering it. -Billy Sarno

We had a wonderful time at the Blackburn house with family visiting from out of town. We had a mix of adults and kids. The house was a great jumping off point for a weeklong ski trip at Stevens Pass. The daily trek to the mountain is about 35-45 minutes. The location on the river is beautiful and quintessential PNW. We enjoyed quiet evenings in the hot tub and daytime playing in the snow-covered yard. The kitchen had all the items we needed to prepare everyday meals as well as special meals on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We enjoyed cozy evenings at the fireplace, playing games from the ample supply in the bunk room. The treehouse was a sweet play spot for the younger kids in our group. The location is great for quick trips to the Plain grocery store where we could pick up essential items. The Plain Hardware store was fun to visit and had some snowy mountain essentials (scrapers, ski essentials, etc). We enjoyed a lovely dinner in one of the outdoor igloos at Wild Flour, a 15 minute drive from the house. We also enjoyed a peaceful Christmas Day snowshoe on the nearby trails. The owner was responsive to questions. She had the house decorated for the holiday so it made the celebration festive—a fun place to wake up on Christmas morning! We would definitely recommend the Blackburn house!

This house is really cool. The inside is really nice with all the modern touches while keeping the cabin feel. Having an actual wife fireplace was really nice, especially during a snowy weekend. Having the river right there with enough avengers a couple minutes away was urgency. We had 4 kids between 10 and 13 that loved the loft. We would absolutely start here again. Oh, and the owner is very communicative and nice to deal with.

Loved, loved, loved our stay! The pictures and description don't do this lovely cabin justice. First of all it's literally right on the river. And there is a view from practically every room. Everyone was blown away by the kitchen. It was stocked with everything you would find in your own home. (not just salt and pepper) From the excellent pots and pans to the endless supply of tableware, to the best stove ever! They have covered it all! I personally loved the living room. It was cozy, comfortable and a spectacular view. I have to say it was my favorite girls trip celebrating my 50th! We will be back!!

We stayed recently, 3 moms who needed a weekend getaway at a place that would just be clean, lovely, modern & cozy. It was absolutely lovely! We went end of October, when the leaves were golden across the river from our many balconies. We walked to a winery up the street & had flights with charcuterie boards. We watched movies together on the big screen and then retreated each to sweet suites to get much needed alone time. The owners even had a wine bar that you could Venmo for if you opened a bottle. The hosts thought of everything: towels by the door for the hot tub, squeegees in the shower, robes hung individually by each bed, cozy blankets on the couch. Even the soaps (for our excessive hand washing in the time of COVID) smelled good. Like... Unreasonably good. All this, and I haven't even typed about the amazing architecture & decor, not to mention a teeny loft for kids that we want to return again & actually bring the kids lol. This is a gem. Go. You won't regret it.
