About this property

Pine Street Retreat | Hot Tub, Dog Door, 1BR, Walk to Main St | Leadville

  • Summary:

Pine Street Retreat is a 1-bedroom, 1-bath home for 2 guests one block off Harrison Avenue (Main Street) in Leadville, Colorado. Year-round hot tub, king bed, and a fenced backyard with a dog door off the bedroom.

    - Year-round hot tub in the fenced backyard

    - 1-block walk to Main Street restaurants, bars and coffee

    - Dog door to the yard; pets welcome, 2 max

    - King bed and in-unit washer/dryer

    - Desk and WiFi for remote work

A November 2025 guest, Lindsay, wrote: "we enjoyed the hot tub while it snowed."

Drive times: Ski Cooper 12 min, Turquoise Lake 12 min, Copper Mountain 25 min, Mt. Elbert trailhead 26 min. Managed by Traverse Hospitality.

    The Space:

Pine Street Retreat is a renovated 1-bedroom, 1-bath Victorian cottage (676 sq ft) at 710 Pine Street, one block off Harrison Avenue in downtown Leadville. Sleeps 2.

Living room: Sofa, electric fireplace, Sonos sound system, 55-inch smart TV with Netflix and Hulu. Desk at the front window with WiFi.

Bedroom: King bed. Stacked washer and dryer in the closet. A door opens straight to the backyard and hot tub.

Kitchen: Compact - electric range and oven, microwave, apartment-size refrigerator with a small freezer, coffee bar (drip, pour-over, grinder, kettle), cookware and dishes. Dining table seats 4.

Bathroom: One full bath with a shower/tub combination.

Backyard: Fenced yard with a year-round hot tub, outdoor sectional and dining table under string lights, and the dog door from the bedroom.

    3 Pros:

    - Park once - Main Street restaurants, bars and coffee are a 1-block walk

    - Dog door to a fenced yard (2 pets max)

    - The hot tub runs year-round - guests soak while it snows

    2 Cons:

    - The yard backs onto the alley and one fence section is chain-link, so the hot tub is not fully screened from passers-by

    - Compact kitchen with an apartment-size fridge - right for breakfasts and simple dinners, not a week of big cooking

Check-in details arrive by email through our digital guidebook link. This is the only way to receive check-in information, and it is also where any add-ons and the deposit choice are handled.

During online check-in you choose one of two options: a refundable security deposit (a temporary card hold released after checkout) or a small nightly damage waiver.

    Guest Access:

The entire home, the fenced backyard and the hot tub are yours alone for the stay.

Self check-in with a smart lock. Your door code arrives before you do; no key exchange.

Parking: free street parking directly in front of the house.

Entry is up the front porch steps; there is no step-free entrance.

    The Neighborhood:

You are one block off Harrison Avenue (Main Street) in historic Leadville, North America's highest incorporated city at 10,152 ft. A former silver-mining town with a Main Street of restaurants, breweries, coffee shops and local stores, all on foot.

    Walkable from the front porch:

    - 1 min to Harrison Avenue / Main Street

    - 2 min to Tennessee Pass Cafe and Wild Oscar's

    - 3 min to Two Mile Brewing Company

    - 5 min to City on a Hill (coffee and food) and the Tabor Opera House

    A short drive:

    - 12 min to Turquoise Lake (swim, kayak, fish)

    - 12 min to Ski Cooper (uncrowded, 400+ acres)

    - 25 min to Copper Mountain

    - 26 min to the Mt. Elbert trailhead (Colorado's highest 14er)

    - 30 to 50 min to Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone and Beaver Creek

The Mineral Belt Trail, a 12-mile paved loop around town, is reachable on foot for running, biking or a morning walk.

    Getting Around:

You will want a car; there is no public transit or reliable rideshare in Leadville.

From Denver (DEN): about 2 hours via I-70 West to Highway 91 South over Fremont Pass (11,318 ft). Check cotrip.org in winter; AWD or chains recommended November to April.

From Eagle/Vail (EGE): about 1 hour with less mountain-pass driving.

Once here, downtown is a 1-block walk, with dining and shops on foot. Ski resorts and trailheads are a 12 to 45 minute drive. Free street parking in front of the home.

    Other Things to Note:

    License #002764

No A/C. At 10,152 ft, Leadville rarely needs it. Summer highs run 65 to 75 F; portable fans are provided and the windows open for a mountain breeze.

Pets welcome (2 max); a per-stay pet fee applies and is collected at online check-in. The fenced backyard has a dog door off the bedroom, so your dog can come and go.

The yard is fenced; one section on the alley side is chain-link, so the hot tub is not fully screened from the alley.

Altitude is real at 10,152 ft. Drink extra water, take your first day easy, and consider travel insurance. Symptoms can include headaches and nausea; we cannot refund for altitude sickness.

Mountain living: you may encounter local wildlife or insects, part of the experience at altitude. We keep the home well sealed but recommend keeping doors closed when possible.

Stairs to enter the home. 2 guests maximum. Check-in after 4:00 PM, checkout by 10:00 AM.

    Interaction with Guests:

We're a local Leadville team, reachable by message anytime through the Traverse digital guidebook — quick answers on the hot tub, the dog door, trail conditions, or a dinner pick a block away. Otherwise the place is entirely yours.

Great house, great town

My visit to Leadville for the annual “Boom Days” celebration was awesome. The cornerstone to the great visit was the house we rented. Clean, comfortable, exactly as advertised and the hosts were quick to respond to the 2 questions I asked them for help with.

Great House One Block from Downtown

This house was perfect for our getaway to Leadville. Just one block from the main street of shops and restaurants. The views from the standing desk work area can't be beat, with Mt. Elbert and the whole range as your backdrop. It had everything we needed and we'd definitely stay here again if we go back to Leadville.

Leadville Home

Great rental property for a couple. Location is ideal on a quiet street that is a short walk to downtown Leadville and interesting restaurants/coffee houses/bars/shops. The interior of this historic house has been updated and decorated in a modern and very stylish way. The property manager is very attentive and the check in and check out process was easy and efficient.

Vacation in Leadville

We enjoyed the quaint home in Leadville. It fitted our needs appropriately. Our dogs ebjoyed the fenced in yards and were ready to get our and go by the time we were there. We would like to suggest a couple of pillows on the couch for comfort but other than that it was perfect for a comfy vacation stay.

We enjoyed our stay in Leadville. The house was exactly as advertised. It was very close to stores and restaurants and reasonably priced for the time that we went. I wish there had been instructions on when the garbage picked up. I didn't see any big bins outside so we just left it in the house. We were only there for 5 days so there wasn't too much. The hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking. It was very clean.
