The house was nice and fit all of us perfect. I do feel like it could have been cleaned a little better before our stay.

Great cabin with plenty of space for everyone. Close to Terry peak and easy access to Deadwood. Overall, a great place to stay and will hopefully use the rental again.

My family enjoyed staying at Big Jim's Hideaway in Lead, SD. It was a perfect fit for our family vacation. This was a wonderful last vacation spot for my grandparents, that joined us for our family vacation. We loved the decor on the inside and all the adults enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. The kids had fun exploring around the cabin and playing with their cousins. We will definitely consider this place again for a family vacation. Wonderful place, easy to book, easy to communicate with cleaners. Overall a great experience!

We came with family to enjoy 4 wheeling in the Black Hills. It was a great cabin with lots of room. It was really nice having a washer and dryer on site as our clothes get dirty from the trails. The hot tub was a good bonus. My only complaint was that it is listed as 4 bedrooms, but it only has 3 and 2 double bunk beds in the basement, but we had more than enough room for us. It got warm in the basement for them the first night, but they found a fan for the other nights.

Location was nice but a little difficult for motorcycles. Hot tub there but to busy to even enjoy it. Had five couples and had enough space for everyone. Only drawback was we did complain about cleanliness. They were glad we notified them about it so they could check more often after the cleaning crew leaves.

This was our 2nd trip to Lead cabin was a nice size for our family. Beds were comfy to sleep in. Down fall was didn’t look like the cabin had been cleaned in awhile dust everywhere, when we booked several months ago don’t remember it stating no AC which made it difficult for 2 of our group to sleep due to health conditions. My 10 month old grand daughter got over heated since the washer and dryer are in the bedroom. Would recommend adding some more ceiling fans in the bedrooms to help circulate air.

This is a great place to have all the ladies get ready at (face, hair, and eating)! Even the grandkids loved it, and kept saying it is so cool! It was overall a wonderful place to stay at. Would recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin, which we primarily used as a home base for hiking and site seeing around the region. The cabin itself is very nice—spacious, clean, fast internet, etc. The hot tub was also a big plus. Look forward to returning.

Big Jims Hideaway worked great for our family ski trip. Was nice and close to Terry Peak but not walking distance with kids. Probably half a mile walk.

On line booking and constant emails from Deadwood Connections -great! Found out upon arrival that washing machine had just broken but the rental agency had someone out in two days and it was fixed! The cabin was a great setup for our group. The four grandkids all love being together every second so they really enjoyed having the entire lower level to themselves to bunk out. The hot tub was clean and worked perfectly and was such a delight after a full day of hiking and off roading. There were plenty of towels provided but facecloths were scarce so that wasn’t the best but we got by. All in all we would certainly stay there again but I do agree with some previous comments about property that the extra fees (cleaning fee etc) should just be figured in with the daily rate and not add ons.

We had an excellent time. The cabin was as advertised. The only issue we had was the washing machine wasn't working but Deadwood Connections replies quickly and even offered to send someone out to get and do our laundry for us. I would highly recommend this to others.

We have stayed in this area 3 times now, and Big Jim's cabin was very satisfactory. The setting is very calm, comfortable, and serene. The cabin décor seems to be geared more for men, but it was enjoyable. It could be a little cleaner, and I couldn't get the TV to work in my bedroom, but all in all, it serves it's purpose in the Hills. I do have to say, there is a lot of fees added to the price of the cabin, cleaning, and service fees, and yet we were expected to do quite a bit of cleaning before we left. I feel all those extra fees should be added to the nightly price of the room up front. It adds a lot to the bill.

Weeds everywhere. Couldn’t really play any yard games. Power went out from rain and hail. Sump pump backed up. Basement carpet was all wet and started to stink. No generator for back up power. Was out of power for 10 hours. Those are the negatives. Positives are. The cabin is very nice. Lots of room inside. It is only a couple miles from lead and deadwood. Hot tub is awesome. Cable tv and internet worked. Beds are very comfy. Very clean. Enough room in the driveway for 4-5 vehicles. Granted the power going out isn’t the owners fault. But from what I could tell the back up water from the sump pump wasn’t the first time. If they had a backup battery for the sump. Or a generator, I would have given it a 5 Star. If I knew we wouldn’t lose power again I would stay here again. When I finally got ahold of the people in charge. No refund or anything was offered.

We were all meeting here, from 4 different states in early June. It was exactly what we needed (ages 4-62). It was clean and ready for us. I had asked ahead of time if there was a crock pot, they replied no. Took one with me and to my surprise we found 2 crock pots, 2 sandwich/panini makers, popcorn popper, and a blender that others had left behind. There was a lot of stuff left in the refrigerator from previous visitors (homemade salsas, condiments, etc), partial containers of ice cream in the freezer. There was a house full of college boys directly behind us, one loud and continual party. All in all....I would rent it again :) L.Pavey

We actually didn’t stay at this one. Night before we left they called and had a water leak. They offered us 4 different options. We took the Goldstone cabin on Grand Marquis Road with the clubhouse option. It was very nice.

First time to the area and everything was great. Prefect distance outside of town but still close enough to the store for all your supplies. Perfect getaway from the daily grind.....hope we get the chance to return some day.
