"New Caledonia in comparison to NZ and AU is quite expensive, you get good value for money here. It's a bit off the beaten track, which we prefer. It's dated, but has everything one would otherwise need. Be sure to take advantage of the breakfast, it's huge and only $23 NZD. We stayed a couple of different nights in a suite and each room opens out either directly to the water (level 1) or with views to the ocean (level 2) and were clean and large. "Hotels being VERY expensive in Noumea I was very happy to find this hotel which offered dormitory accommodations for a reasonable price.
