"Reception was very friendly and welcoming. Not many amenities within the domaine, and the area's largest attraction, les sBains de Couloubret (the thermal water spa) was closed without warning to travelers, *very disappointing* "
"The location is great. Carpark was close by and free. But unfortunately they were the only positives.
Bed linen and towels were not provided. Despite no mention of this when booking. But most disappointing was the cleanliness."
"The apartments are nice but the hotel is located at the junction of two mountain rivers which are very noisy.
The internet said that the hotel had 24hr reception but it is only open for limited hours and closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The hotel swimming pool was also closed for the first part of our visit.
Probably all this was incorporated into the price we paid but the advertising didn't state it."
"We loved this small hotel. Perfect location, wonderful new owners, great hospitality. Our room was small but very comfortable and just as advertised. We would definitely go back."
"The best place to stay in Tarascon. A maison d'hotes- table d'hotes. Big suites and big comfort. Genial hosts. The petit dej is outstanding with homemade everything.
Located in center but calm at night. Park free on street in front.
Recommendation top!!!"
"The owner Chris was keen to welcome us along with his lovely 2 lab retrievers. Chris is full of local and world knowledge. The bed and bedding were by far the most comfortable I experienced in Europe so far. I wish I could have stayed longer! "
"Beautiful hotel and location. Very quiet and relaxing. We were only able to enjoy breakfast but very enjoyable. Only 1 night but wish we could have had 2 days/nights. "

"They charged me £35, but when I arrived at the hotel, it was completely closed. The gates were shut, all the doors were locked, and there was no sign of life — no staff, no guests, nothing. I tried to contact the hotel directly but received no helpful response. I then reached out to Expedia customer service, but they refused to issue a refund. It was clearly a scam — no one was there, and it appears they’re just taking money from people. This is unacceptable and very poor service. I strongly advise others not to trust them."
"The Chaumiere is really the only good hotel in this area, decor feels a little set in the 1990's, but facilities are great and the set menu at the restaurant is a real treat. It has a nice casual feel and a very attentive owner/manager"

"The hotel is located on the main street through the town. The room was modern and comfortable and located in b beautiful spot next to the Ariege river. Breakfast was a bit limited by a broken automatic coffee machine (the waitress brought us our coffee from another part of the restaurant) and a shortage of croissants, but this was far from serioius. Dinner in the Bellevue, below the hotel was passable, especially with a cheese plate and a glass of the local wine. What really bothered us was the noise from the motorcycles blasting through the center of the town, gunning their engines as they rounded the curve next to the hotel until well past evening -- a shame, as otherwise the hotel rated 5 stars. "
Charming villa in the heart of the hills, private heated pool, Carcassonne
10/10 Excellent
"We had a highly enjoyable stay at Jean-Pierre and Basanti's place. They have almost singlehandedly created a little oasis of calm in the hills, right down to planting all the grass, trees, vegetables and plants on the property; as well as building both houses! It was more like being hosted by family than a commercial transaction. As well as being on-hand to make sure we had everything we needed, the hosts were incredibly tolerant and welcoming of our children wanting to run around, explore, and participate in their outdoor work.Other reviewers noted the pool is a short walk from the house. This is a definite plus with small children. We'd definitely stay agin."
