"This was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve stayed at globally. It was so quaint and authentic. The setting was beautiful, at the end of the road made it quiet with trees and plants around to seclude. At the very end it overlooked the river and the pool was perfectly positioned. The restaurant is open all day and had a very extensive menu of Thai and Western foods at very reasonable prices. We ate here at every meal. Included breakfast was a choice of eggs on toast, cereal, pancakes or muesli plus drinks. The room was large with AC. The bathroom was a wet room with an electric shower that wasn’t particularly heated but it wasn’t needed in the Thai weather! Location allowed a good walk to the River Kwai bridge and outside of the war cemetery & death museum. "

"This place has the feel of a 5 star resort that once was, years ago. It needs many repairs and a lot of cleaning, but most of all it needs solid leadership to make it a reputable place I would recommend for above average where it could be with simple cleaning and repairs. The dirt and grim are sustained deposits of neglect. Easy repairs exists (like simple door locks) abundantly. The area is profoundly beautiful and a great site to enjoy. The staff we interacted with were respectful and courteous."

"We stayed at the Sabai at Kan in late May. Kanchanaburi was very quiet, especially after staying in hectic Bangkok. We stayed on the main floor (upstairs). We had a view of lovely trees and the mountains. The room was large and wonderful. We ordered breakfast and it too was very good. The restaurant across the street (JP's) was so good that we went there twice. We would stay again. "
