Pristine 5-Acre Secluded Black Oak Lake Hideaway

"Serenity at the Top of Wisconsin!" This totally secluded 5-acre lakefront property on renowned Black Oak Lake features over 400 feet of lake frontage on Wisconsin's CLEAREST LAKE- incredible western-facing sunsets, great fishing, all located at the very end of the road and only 5 minutes driving to the cute town of Land O Lakes. 3 full bedrooms/2 full bathrooms sleeps a total of 8. Plenty of parking, garage storage with kayaks/paddle boards/lily pad for guest use! There's nothing like getting away and unwinding in the north woods, and this property offers guests a total escape...complete privacy and silence, crystal clear waters, an abundance of wildlife, year-round sporting/adventure activities, and everything that makes being on a lake so enjoyable. Set on 5 acres at the very end of a dead-end road with over 400 feet of western facing lake frontage, the main cabin has been renovated with updated kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, living room, dining area, basement family room, outdoor gas grill, outdoor fire pit. The main level includes 2 full bedrooms, each with a new 10" platform king bed and large double door closet. The living room includes 2 couches, 2 lounge chairs, and a wifi enabled Roku 55" TV -- and YES WE HAVE FAST WIFI!!! The kitchen is fully appointed with pots and pans, dishes, utensils, coffee maker, soap, and towels. The bathrooms include all linens and soaps, and a hair dryer. The basement features a bedroom with queen bed, bunk with 2 twin beds, full closet. In the summer, guests are welcome to use our 2 paddle boards, 2 kayaks, and a floating lilly pad for swimming/playing off the pier. Guests will have full access to the main cabin and garage -- The little guest cabin shown in photos IS NOT rented to other guests. It is only for family use in the summer months -- so you will never have other guests on the property. I'm always available to respond Black Oak Lake is the clearest lake in Wisconsin. With visibility of over 30 feet, it has gained the unofficial title of the "crown jewel" of northern Wisconsin. The nearby town of Land O Lakes is just 5 miles away and situated right at the Wisconsin border with Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Land O Lakes offers almost everything you need- grocery, food/liquor, restaurants, coffee shops, tourism office, and gas stations. Whether you're visiting in summer or winter, the area offers a wide variety of outdoor enjoyment. The community is located in the heart of some of the best snowmobiling in the world, straddling the border of two incredible state systems. With Land O’ Lakes as your basecamp, you can explore Wisconsin’s incredible trails to the south and head north across the border for nearly unlimited riding in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The lake offers excellent fishing (panfish, bass, walleye, and lake trout that are unique to only Black Oak Lake). Wildlife is always roaming around, and regular visitors include beaver, fox, bald eagles, deer, and loons. If you're looking for summer lake fun there is kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, waterskiing/wakeboarding, and a public beach. We have paddle boards and kayaks at the property that guests may use at no charge. The town of Land O Lakes is a hidden gem with art galleries, 100-year old log-cabin lodges and restaurants, year round festivals, quaint pubs, a golf course, excellent nearby hiking/biking/snowmobile/ATV trails, and a visitors center to help with any of your questions on the area. Additionally, there are two world-class ski resorts within a 1 hour drive - Big Snow (Indianhead/Blackjack) in Wakefield, MI and Ski Brule in Iron River, MI. Walking, biking, snowmobiling, boating...and the town of Land O Lakes is just a 5-minute drive away with all of the essentials including grocery store! If you are visiting in the winter, it is highly recommended that you drive a vehicle with all wheel drive / 4 wheel drive. Snowfall can happen quickly and the property is located down a slightly hilly driveway, so it can be difficult to drive out in a two-wheel drive car if there is snow on the ground. Otherwise, you can also park at the top of the driveway to avoid any problems.

Great cabin, walkout basement provides easy access to lake and separation for larger groups. Great fishing, rented a boat through a local rental business. Excellent panfishing off dock and watch out for a northern or largemouth off the dock in the evenings.

The property this home sits on is quite a gem. Our family was looking for a place where we could all stay together with our dog, and this fit the bill. The owner could not have been easier to work with and honest about the listing. If you are looking for a place to get away and have some quiet, on a cool clean lake, this is it.

Exceptional cottage on what might be the single best clear-water lake in Wisconsin. My wife and I had the very best time and we hope to visit again for a longer stay next Summer.

Love coming up here to get away from our everyday lives. Love that they are pet friendly. We have only come up in the fall but would love to see what it’s like in the summer.

This property is lovely with lots of acreage to roam. The peak of Fall in the Northwoods should be on everyone's list. Our rental is warm and comfortable with great views of Black Oak Lake. Lots of room for a large family. Everything that was listed was working and made our experience enjoyable. I definitely suggest this property.

Our family of 6 had a wonderful time at Chad’s cabin. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host even allowed us to use the beach toys which were a huge hit with the kids. Even our yellow lab felt welcome with the dog bowls left for her in the kitchen. We spent the week kayaking, swimming and watching wildlife. We saw bald eagles, deer, otters and loons while kayaking on the Big Oak Lake, a huge treat for big city people like us. The cabin is comfortable enough but nothing beats the privacy and beauty of its location. We have found our new favorite vacation rental! Thank you Chad!

We had a wonderful week on Black Oak Lake with terrific weather and a gorgeous setting. We have stayed at BOL many times over the past 30 years and were excited to bring our grand children. We rented a boat and the dock was accommodating for the 22’ pontoon. We had quick communication with the owner Chad on many occasions and found him genuinely interested in helping us have a great experience. Sadly, during our stay, there was a huge mosquito issue in this area of the lake that we were unaware of prior to booking. We obviously don’t hold Chad responsible for the mosquitos, but we did ask for some extra attention to make it bearable to be outside. He was generous in having the property sprayed while we were there. The provided kayaks, paddle boards and floating island were loads of fun and our family enjoyed it all. The fire pit area is nice, but tall grass and mosquito issues prevented us from enjoying it. You honestly couldn’t be outside for long without being attacked by the mosquitos. I mention this mostly so that future renters prepare beforehand with mosquito spray, foggers, even netting for future visits. There were new beach towels for us to use and the laundry facilities in the basement were greatly appreciated. We did have concerns with cleanliness in the cabin as there was a plentiful amount of dog hair found on both floors, including in the downstairs bed. We vacuumed and swept daily. Also, a few of the towels pulled from the upstairs laundry closet reeked of cigarette smoke. The downstairs is roomy, but musty smelling, even despite air cleaning attempts. We were somewhat disappointed the grass around the cabin (during our visit) was ten inches taller than shown in the Evolve photos. All in all, our family had a wonderful time at Black Oak Lake.

The house smelled very, very musty. I was glad no one had to sleep in the lower level because it smelled so musty and was very damp. The kitchen chair upholstery was soiled, all of the windows were very dirty, and the window screens were full of dead gnats and pine needles. With such a nice view of the lake, it was a shame the windows were so dirty. The upstairs bathroom exhaust fan didn't work which only added humidity to the house. The bathroom only has one two prong outlet (not a GFI) which is located in the old light above the mirror over the sink. The vanity, toilet and flooring was all new, but keeping the 40+ year old tub was a mistake. Satellite TV worked extremely well and using hotspots on our phones made using WIFI easy. There was plenty of outdoor seating available. No canoe or paddle boat on site to use.

Great rental for a relaxing vacation. House was clean and had everything we needed. Dock for fishing and just enjoying the lake was very nice. Property was very private and peaceful. The property owner checked in with us upon arrival and during our stay to make sure any questions or concerns were addressed. Would recommend this property.
