"We loved our stay! The home is a beautiful example of Arts and Crafts style. The garden is exquisite and the breakfast and food delicious, but the charm and hospitality comes most from the gracious and kind hosts! They made us feel like family or cherished friends. "I stayed with Jim and Jenny here as my friends were at The Inn in Grasmere. As a single traveler I took the smaller double room. This was perfect for me, clean, tidy and super quiet looking over to the garden. The best bit of the room was the amazingly comfortable bed. "Just had a great stay at the Derwentwater Hotel and great staff and service. In particular a huge thanks to Ronnie and Amy who went out of their way to take time and assist us getting to a local wedding when all other taxi firms were unavailable due to storms and road closures.. Having excellent staff and friendly check in made the stay enjoyable and we will be returning to the hotel again. Fully recommend this hotel. Thanks all. "

"Excellent hotel, nothing to complain about. Stayed here to go to scafell pike which was around 25 minutes drive away. Also a beach around 10 minutes drive away. Hotel has a large car park, great outdoor space to sit as well. Only down side was we went to pool room and it was locked, got the staff to open it and got change for the table from the bar. Just as we were going to start playing noticed one cue was broken in half and the other the tip was missing. Dart board not in the best condition. So we left the room. Breakfast was great and served large portions, only down side was the next day tried the pancakes and those were only two litter ones you get. Also the food came out really fast once ordered. Overall great experience and would recommend to others. Nice, clean and friendly happy staff. "
