Celebration of Life of Carrie King Williams
We came here to Lake Providence, LA to celebrate the life of our Mother, Carrie King Williams(Madear). Her parents were William & Queenie King. This was her hometown. I remember riding in her car as a child coming to visit my grandparents and seeing this home across from the lake over 50 years ago. She grew up and graduated from Lake Providence H.S. "Madear" was 96 years young and this setting brought everything full circle. Everyone near and far enjoyed the stay. Thank you Cassie for anwsering our questions and making sure that we were all set for our stay. We will definitely book this property again when we come back in the area.

Tastefully and Beautifully Restored Home
Gorgeous house that has been painstakingly restored with modern comforts. The two bedrooms and kitchen that lead directly outside were a bit of a surprise, but our teens actually loved being tucked away in their own space. Would absolutely rent again. It's a gem.

A gem in Lake Providence
This house is absolutely beautiful. The restoration was amazing, and it is THE place to stay if you have business or pleasure in this area. The host was especially accommodating for our schedule, which varied a little.

Perfect Family weekend
We stayed at Bernard House for a long weekend with my husband and adult kids. We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend and the house was the perfect place to reconnect. Everyone had a king sized bed with an en suite bathroom. Cassie was a great, attentive host. The area is beautiful and historic. Perfect for Civil War era history buffs. Don't miss dinner at the The Dock while you're in town.

Family Trip for a memorial celebration
Our experience was awesome; SUPER AWESOME, complimented by the kindness, and how accommodating the owner Cassie was to us. Even before we arrived in town, she was easy to communicate with to help us with our stay and needs. The home is so beautiful and it exceeded our expectations. Everything we could have needed and more was there to accommodate. We had a memorial celebration and this was the perfect place-indoors and outdoors!! Every bedroom was finely touched with a taste of history or nostalgia. I would want to stay here every time we are in the area! Thank you Cassie, because of you our family was able to enjoy and have fun for what was to be a sad occasion- this home lightened the mood and gave us renewed joy!! FYI: the pics online does no justice for the reality- THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!

Lake Providence...Who knew???
I was originally looking for a property where my wife and I and two younger kids could meet for a nice weekend with our college kids, one in N. LA and the other N. MS. Logical location was Vicksburg, but I scanned the surrounding area and found the Bernard House, and glad that I did. The property is absolutely spectacular. We rented the whole house to have room for the family and fit us very well. It is upscale, quaint, beautifully appointed, historical, and having the opportunity to stay there just made the weekend for us. And to top off the accommodations, Cassie is the most incredible host. Before arriving, she recommended a fish market that we could stop by on our drive in and made sure that we were well informed of the local food options. (Side note, cooking in the separate kitchen was really quite fun as well. ) She helped my college-aged daughter finish her laundry, (Cassie actually washed and folded them herself). And she even had some boiled crawfish delivered one evening. The personal touch was just incredible. To have the opportunity to connect with the family in such a special place with an owner who really cares won't be forgotten. I grew up in South Louisiana and couldn't have told you where Lake Providence was prior to this weekend. I now know where it is, plan to go back, and recommend that everyone spend some time there at the Bernard House. Special place. Thanks for sharing it with us Cassie.
