"This place was a solid 3 stars, and I mean that in the best way. Expectations were low, based on past reviews but my LARGE family took a chance and we were not disappointed. We stayed for 4 nights and were a group of 17 people, 4 kids and 2 babies. The water park was endless fun for the older kids, and they ran back and forth to the lake and beach. It was a cute little town with a few great places to eat . breakfast provided was very basic, but not too bad. Waffles and cereal and bagels. We did need to do some of our own housekeeping - like getting our own towels and taking out our trash, but to be honest that wasn't a big deal. The only part I'd caution about is a weird fact that the entire town loses power often. Our first night of our stay the power and water cut off from 4am-noon. The locals say it happens a lot.
All in all, I'd definitely go back- its just an hour away from Traverse City and made day trips easy. When we didn't feel like doing anything, the chairs on the beach and the cool lakeside kayaks and paddle boards were perfect. The kids all rated it the best family vacay we've been on. Enough said."
