"We took a girls trip here for four days. The spa was amazing, the pool had ample space and chairs for everyone. It was great to be able to see the ocean and hear the waves (many hotels along the coastline sit further back eliminating the sights and sounds). Location along the hiking trail was perfect and access to town (easily walkable) was convenient. Now for what wasn’t perfect - the a/c never dropped below 22 during our stay - maintenance came everyday and said it was working fine (after several days of our comments on this topic the hotel was very apologetic for our stresses) . Lighting in the bathroom was very dim, service at the restaurants was lacking (but the actual food was delicious - we had sushi twice and room service - the breakfast buffet was also lovely)."

"This hotel is incredible. We didn't mind at all that it wasn't renovated. It was part of the charm. It was very clean. The breakfast was good, the staff was so nice. The pool is outstanding. The staff kindly gave us a balcony room on the end on the first floor which was sooo lovely. However, the only thing that would make me rethink staying here are the beds. They are hard. I read this before staying and thought it was an exaggeration. However, it is not. Also, the AC was loud at higher setting. I also wish the beach had lounge chairs. We ended up going to the neighboring beach Praia do Pintadinho (amazing!). We booked the hotel because of access to beach The short walk to it though- is wonderful. They go to considerable trouble to make this a special place which it is. Upgrading the beds would make it the ideal place - despite beach & AC. We would have stayed longer and absolutely return again if they just improved beds, Everything else was perfect. As an aside, it was an easy walk to other beaches and fantastic restaurants. Uber wasn't always reliable for longer distances (when went to Marina for a boat trip with friends) but the hotel can call a cab. I recommend arranging it ahead if you're going longer distances. "This was our 5th stay at the resort, a fantastic location and the breakfasts are still superb. However the resort is becoming a bit tired, we stayed in the same room as last year and the broken drawers from last year hadn’t been fixed (we reported this last year). The staff at the restaurant have also gone downhill, mainly down to a lack of sufficient training. One in particular was rude to us on a couple of occasions which was a shock. We have enjoyed this resort over the years but our last experience means we may start looking elsewhere when returning to the area in the future."
