Acadian Cypress Home - downtown - walkable - private parking & yard

The luxury of being downtown, matched with the comfort of being in a neighborhood. This original mid 1900s home has been gently restored while maintaining its original character. Adorned with local artwork and native made furniture. A quick walk will take you to Jefferson St where you’ll find boutiques, highly rated restaurants, coffee and entertainment. Should you care to venture outside of the downtown area, you will be 2 blocks from the train station with easy access to public transportation. 5 minutes to UL campus and the airport.
The space
This 1026sqft home features a queen bed in each room with a shared bathroom that has a claw foot tub with shower attachment. The couch also turns into a full sized futon. TVs located in bedrooms, as well as Living Room, each offers streaming service, you’ll have access to fiber Internet throughout your stay.
Other things to note
If traveling with dogs, please include in your reservation request. Maximum of 3 dogs. $100 pet fee per stay, they must leave property with you or be kenneled when away.

Cute, clean...and noisy

Really the only bad thing I can say about this listing is the noise. It's at the corner of a busy road and a railroad track. It's also very close to downtown, so it made for lots of traffic all night long. We got zero sleep and actually ended up leaving early. I will say, the owner did stock the house with noise machines in every room, and ear plugs. It just wasn't enough to drown out the constant, excessive noise. That aside, the house is extremely cute, well stocked, and clean. And it is in a very convenient location, walkable to downtown, and 10min from all other areas of Lafayette. Nice size yard as well. It was just too noisy for us.
