Other things to note
Neighborhood Recreation Centers:
All neighborhood recreation centers are available for your use as a guest. Chula Vista is the local one for my village of Valle Verde. All the recreation centers feature bocce, pickleball, tennis, horseshoes, and shuffleboard courts. The equipment is already in place, so come and have fun.
Polo in The Villages:
Polo season runs from mid-March to May, while the fall season continues from September to November. Enjoy watching the fast-paced games from the comfort of your golf cart while tailgating with friends.
Swimming in The Villages:
With more than 70 pools to choose from, there is no shortage of options, and all of the facilities are kept in immaculate condition. All the pools throughout The Villages are temperature-controlled to ensure the water is comfortable for everyone. There are also three different types of pools:
1. Neighborhood Pools: If you are more interested in relaxing by the pool than exercising in the pool, the neighborhood pools will provide exactly what you are looking for. These quiet and peaceful pools are for adults only. They offer a great place to gather and unwind. Many Villagers can be found reading books, sunbathing, or even napping around their local neighborhood pools.
2. Family pools: The family pools that are located throughout The Villages are the exact opposite of the neighborhood pools. These pools offer Villagers a great place to bring their visiting children and grandchildren. Swimmers of all ages are welcome to come and play in the family pools filled with noise, splashing, and fun! There are at least 20 family pools located throughout The Villages. Some of the most popular ones include Allamanda Recreation Center, Bacall Recreation Center, Canal Street Recreation Center, Rio Grande (our family pool), and Captiva Recreation Center.
3. Sport Pools: The sport pools are incredibly popular among the more active Villagers. At the most basic level, these pools are sized and kept ready for Villagers who enjoy swimming laps. Sports pools are also used for many popular water activities, such as water volleyball, water aerobics, and various other competitive events.
Golf in The Villages:
There are 12 immaculately maintained championship golf courses, 38 executive courses, and four practice facilities in The Villages, featuring primarily par-3 holes and the occasional par-4 hole. With three sets of tees from 2-7 tee boxes, they will challenge even the most experienced golfer, while the forward tees will provide an enjoyable experience for recreational or beginner golfers. With your guest pass, the current fees are $11.00 plus a $4 trail fee if you have a golf cart (rates may vary). 18-hole Championship courses are available for an additional fee.
