A car isn’t necessary - supermarkets are five minutes, train station is ten minutes and the beach 20 minutes - might be a bit far if you had small children. We got the train to Barcelona and had a great day, hired bikes in the town one afternoon, and just hired a car for a few days. Taxi to and from Reus airport was easy and about 50 euro. We stayed at portaventura for the first few days but...

No buses go here or shuttles cabs are super expensive and even the bike ride out into town took us three hours and then we had to bike it back. We were so sore. Other than that, perfect. "
