Hôtel La Tour de Nesle La Rochelle Vieux Port

"Wonderful location with the best view of the marina. Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. Everyday the housekeeping was excellent. Breakfast was adequate but we expected better. France is home to the croissant but the ones on offer here were small, poor quality and were not replenished once gone. A big difference in the reception staff! Generally the male ones were friendly and helpful (thanks) the ladies not so much! Only 4 stars because of the awful buskers every night just across the road. We expected noise because of the location and generally it did not bother us but every night a different busker till very late. Not the hotel’s fault but as it spoilt sleep a lot it must be mentioned."

"The hotel was perfect for our long weekend. The location is excellent: situated in the old town, only a couple minutes around the corner from the market, near to all the shops and the bus stop to the airport and about a 10 minute walk to the port. The staff are so helpful and friendly and anticipate what you are going to ask for. The pool is very clean and doesn’t smell too strongly of chlorine, the sauna is well maintained and the in a nice quiet area. Several guests like to sit around the pool on sun loungers to relax and read books with a drink. The room was beautiful and a good size and the bed comfortable. There are bicycles available for the stay from the hotel to get around. Car park has limited spaces and there is a mixture of normal and luxury cars from all over France and Europe. I appreciated the attention to detail to the lobby and room decor and it was very easy on the eye. The room lighting was well thought out with no dark corners, all the lights worked and the housekeeping team is very thorough. The restaurant Arco is just as excellent as I remember it four years ago and the lunch set menu (Tue-Sat) is astonishing value for the calibre of cooking."

"The room is very small and clean. The location was great, on the edge of the city center, a 15 minute walk, into the city port. The city itself is old but the port is beautiful."

"This hotel was a great find! It’s situated on the harbour front with easy access to everything - station, buses, boat trips and the lovely old city. Staff are friendly and attentive. The room was clean and spacious with a comfy bed and had shutters which helped a good night’s sleep. The heated outdoor pool is a real bonus. We had a lovely stay!"
