"We loved this hotel! Comfortable, quiet room, with air conditioning and a quick lift to the top floor. Delicious breakfast, with loads of choice and helpful accommodation for gluten free and vegan options. Gym basic but grateful for it and the outside seating was calm, shady and relaxing. Right in the centre of everything, sights, shops and restaurants. Special shout out to the incredibly friendly and helpful Neil and Thomas for making our 20th wedding anniversary perfect, including calling restaurants in French for us to confirm reservations, and arranging for our bed to be scattered with rose petals etc. All the other staff were also wonderful. We will return!"

"The hotel is very small (maybe 16 rooms) and right on the old port. You simply cannot beat the location. Check-in was a bit unusual, as the reception was not open for check-in until 3 pm. There is an option for an earlier check-in for a small fee but we arrived right at 3. There is no elevator and the initial stairs up to the reception area are steep. It may be prohibitive for people with mobility issues, but we found the stairs manageable. The room was large and very clean. Very minimalist, basic room but relatively well maintained for such an old building. The bed was on the firm side but comfortable and there was a pull out twin as well that was actually more comfortable than the bed (in our room at least). We stayed a week and had very hot days of 87-90 F (31-32 C) and the AC kept the room very cool/cold. Most importantly for us - our courtyard, top floor room was super quiet at night even on loud busy nights. Compared to other options in the old city center, this hotel was a good value and a comfortable stay. Finally, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful."

"A very well located hotel, handy for the station, and near the harbour and main sights. The room was fine, as was the breakfast. It was a bit noisy though, not from outside but from inside, as the floor outside my 1st floor room was very creaky, so that every time someone walked past (and you had to walk past to go up to the higher floors) you heard it."

"Location. Location. Location. Onsite parking and walkable distance to town led to stress free visit. Hotel has a lovely courtyard for sheltered breakfasts in the heat. Staff were really helpful."

"We loved our stay in La Rochelle. The staff were super friendly, really helpful with recommendations and we felt really well looked after. We were also offered a welcome drink which was a wonderful start to our stay. Great location for exploring La Rochelle allowing you to walk everywhere. We were a family of 5 staying at the hotel and we had plenty of space - two rooms with an interlocking door, one being a suite so we didn't feel cramped at all. We didn't want to leave!"
