Little Japan Echigo
2.0 star property
8.0 out of 10, Very Good, (8)

"Excellent place to stay. The gentleman at the hostel offers pick up and drop services from Yudanaka station, Snow monkey park and some onsens in Yamanouchi. Although he speaks only Japanese, he uses a translator and tries his best to communicate with you. We will be staying here again when we come back."

Sportsheim Okushiga - Hostel
1.0 star property

30 seconds walk to Kusatsu Onsens new famous spot - Sark Hills / Agatsuma-gun Gunma
4.0 out of 10, (1)
"Vastly over-priced for what is effectively an old single-room storefront(?) turned into a youth hostel. Five beds in a single room, with wallpaper peeling off, and all sorts of weird attempts at “renovation.” For the price, could be good for five backpackers. For two people expecting something worthy of the Vrbo/Expedia brand, not so much."

"As a seasoned private detective who's seen his fair share of rough patches, let me tell ya, my recent stay at the VRBO house in Kusatsu Onsen was a real eye-opener. Tucked away in this gem of a spa town in Japan, this house was like finding an oasis in the desert. Now, let's talk about the private bath, capisce? In my line of work, relaxin' ain't a common occurrence, but that private bath was like hittin' the jackpot. The hot springs water did wonders for these tired bones, washin' away all the...
