"It was surprisingly comfortable and attractive. Also quite functional. I definitely think about coming back to this place next time I be in this area.
Meantime you have to know that the property is not staffed after 7 PM or 8 PM and you have to check in by unlocking the key code provided by the owner. Still it was very efficient."

"A beautiful place and a real honour to stay here as a westerner. Robes and amenities were provided and the baths were excellent including an outdoor area. Very helpful and friendly staff made us feel welcomed. There was even a mini stamp rally around the building which was great for us and our teen child to explore. The building interior was like a maze with beautiful objects and resting places all around and overlooking the garden."

"I love the Tanbo no Yu! I can tell that its being fixed up more everytime I come here! If looking for authentic Japanese experience (for the working and middle class Japanese) this is a very good experience. Dinner and breakfast buffet was really good. However there's little to do around the lake, unlike Yamashiro ir Yamanaka onsen area.
