Take a tour or walk around yourself in this ghost town. An old diamond mine which was occupied by the Germans before they up and left. Now the desert has claimed back the town and started to fill all the old buildings with sand. Quite a site and you can also get a photographer pass for early entry and late sunset access.

Kolmanskop is a ghost town located in Namibia. People there used to mine diamond, but they all left. The particularity of this ghost town is that the surrounding dunes (yes, this town is located straight in the middle of the desert !) are entering the house and make this place quite unique !
I would definitely recommend going there !
note : the place is only accessible in the morning, because it is way too windy in the afternoon, and it creates sandstorms. The site is only accessible from 8am to 12 but there are special permits for photographers to go there for sunrise or sunset.
Swallowed by rising sands, Kolmanskop was once the richest town in Africa.
The nearby diamond mines flooded the area with opportunity, prosperity, and corruption. Built by prospectors to model the classic German they were used to, Kolmanskop was abandoned after World War 2, and left to the elements.
There are still diamonds in these sands... What would you do if you found one? 💎
