Tiki Hut Cottage - Lush Tropical Garden, ;Walk to Tunnels Beach TVNCU#5161

10/10 Excellent
"We spent 12 days at the Tiki Hut and it was one of our best rental experiences in Kauai. The privacy was perfect and the host struck exactly the right balance, available if we wanted anything, but never intrusive. The property itself was spotless and the grounds were beautiful. Being a 5-minute walk to what's arguably the best beach on the island was a huge plus. What really stood out was the thoughtfulness of how the place was so well stocked and nicely furnished. Everything you'd need for a day at the beach or a night cooking in was already there, and Toni left snacks, coffee, and wine to get us through our first day without a grocery run. Small touch, but it made a big difference after a long travel day. Also, really comfortable bed and great shower with good water pressure. The 2-person hot tub was a nice bonus, and in great working condition. That's rarer than it should be. Every other rental hot tub we've used has had some issue. We'd highly recommend this place without hesitation and can't wait to stay again. Thanks to Toni and Samson for the hospitality!Roger and Lynn"

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property is about the vibe. And by that I mean an authentic north shore experience. And that means it won't be for everyone. Kauai is humid, was 94% while we were there and this property was build in 1964 to those standards. So, that humidity is in everything. We were four 50 somethings looking for that authentic vibe so we thought it was great but again, if you are looking for blemish free, air conditioned and hotel standards, this is not your place. If you want to feel like you stepped back in time and connect with the amazing unique north Kauai environment while feeling that ocean breeze and also be just a few minutes to Hae na and Halanei, then couldn''t recommend it more."

"We absolutely LOVED our stay! What a perfect little get-away! The furnishings where adorable and tasteful throughout! For less than the cost of a hotel room you can not beat the value and charm of this location! The the beach, just a three block walk away, is second to none! The only detraction (if you can call it that) is that you are literally in the jungle - as is the entire area of Hanalei. For us this was a plus and exactly why we love to vacation here. For some this might be a deterrent as there are a lot of delightful creatures to be found but for us it simply added to the experience."

"River Estate is a true respite and a wonderful place to embrace the beauty of nature and find relaxation. This was our first family vacation in 8 years, and this gorgeous site was the perfect spot for us to all be together. We loved the lanai the most; it's where we ate all our meals, read books, played games, and even watched some World Cup competitions, all with the view and sounds of the river, the occasional rain, and the chickens. The house has virtually everything one needs, and it comes with a phenomenal host. Mark was simply outstanding, responding immediately to any questions, handling any little glitches, and even calling us on the landline to tell us that Wifi was down in the area. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to stay in this paradise!"

Kauai Tree House - Nestled Along a Stream with Tropical Surroundings.

Kauai Tree House - Nestled Along a Stream with Tropical Surroundings.

8/10 Good
"The treehouse is beautiful, spacious, tidy and extremely well stocked. I was pleased to find beach towels, beach chairs, and a beach umbrella available for use. There was plenty of coffee, towels, toilet paper, detergent, games. and puzzles. As others mentioned, there were some bugs but given the proximity to river and forested area, I am not surprised. We were pleased to welcome 2 cute lizard visitors in the house as well! The location is amazing! You are close to Hanalei, Tunnels, and Ke’e Beach. The only downside really was the noise. The neighboring dogs and road noise are loud. It disrupted our sleep most nights. The property management company suggests that you call the local humane society regarding the dogs, which seems wild to me. I am not sure why they would ask paying customers to call the humane society on a neighbor’s dogs. Disposable ear plugs would be a nice addition to the property. The nightly rates were not bad for the space but once the 360 cleaning fee and over 200 processing fee was added on, the rate seems less fair considering the noise. 10/10 would stay again if were not for noise and cost. For what we paid, I was disappointed to be woken up at 4 am every day."
