"A beautiful, older resort in the low season which could use some refurbishing and additional wait-staff. It's quiet, out of the way and was once gorgeous. Now it needs a coat of varnish. The hot water in the shower works very well, if you can figure out how to manipulate the faucet. The main restaurant needs more servers, so things like silverware aren't forgotten when the food is brought out.The bottom line: it's quiet, and like stepping into a few hundred years ago. "Beautiful spot with your own private beach. Our kids loved just walking into the water for basic off beach snorkling, plenty of small fish to see. Nice deep swimming pool was great and restaurant food was excellent with plenty of Western and Thai options available. Not too expensive. Our family of 5 stayed in a multiroom villa, it was excellent. The outdoor bathrooms are novel. The staff were excellent and helped with everything incl scooter hire, transport and laundry services. "The key to High Season resort is its incredible beach front location and the really well designed and build pool villas. The rustic and lush exotic gardens give you a sense of relaxation. It was getting close to low season, so the staff seemed to be a bit slowed down. For a 5 star resort, we expected a bit more enthusiasm from the beach staff. Like bringing cold water on hot days and tending the beach lounges. Other than that, everyone else from front desk to room upkeep and service was great."

"resort is beautiful, slightly out of the way. Secluded just past lonely beach. Walkway access to a mostly rock and mud beach leading to a small spit of white sand at low tide. Gorgeous pool for those less intrepid. Breakfast is made to order, lunch ～ dinner restaurant until 9:30pm. Decent little enclave just above hotel. Motorbike for the daring as dark and hilly roads to the main tourist areas or a TH150 PP ride each way. Very enjoyable R/R over Song Klang. "

"Vi havde et fantastisk ophold hos Ban Mae Resort. Vores bungalow var stor med både soveværelse, bagagerum, badeværelse og terrasse. Stedet ligger langt fra touristresorterne på øens vestside, men servicen var i top! Der er fantastisk natur, dyreliv og en lille kiosk ved vejen. Vi kunne leje kanoer og padle til fine sandstrande, vi stort set havde for os selv. Maden var god. This is a beautiful resort in the middle of nowhere, which was just the getaway we were looking for.
