Lovely staff and a great room and shower, loads of room. A kitchen available should you want to self- cater. such a reasonable price and I would highly recommend it! 10/10
nice informal hotel with great sized rooms the whitest bedding and towels ever, and helpful staff convenient for our exploration of the Borders. Great value for money
Our stay was perfect, very friendly and helpful owners. Very nice old building and beautiful cosy room. Close to the best of the Shropshire Hills. Thank you very much for taking care of us during our weekend stay :)
Check in was easy with the instructions from our email, the staff we encountered are all friendly and welcoming.
The hotel is extremely comfortable with a modern twist to an old building.
There is plenty of amenities at the hotel, including space to do your own cooking if desired.
This is a beautiful hotel and we’ll definitely be back
Loved the room we had with a shower and jacuzzi bath. Big room over looking the street and a river. Staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I loved the fact we could cook our own food in the kitchen and eat at the dining room and use the fridge - brilliant AND most of affordable!
Nice big room, clean and tidy. The receptionist was very helpful and recommended the Horse and Hounds opposite for an evening meal which was great especially as options locally are limited and there wasn’t food available at the hotel.
Limited parking but convenient. The room was a good size and clean. The bathroom was very nice. The hotel offer use of a kitchen and dining area- great if you want a take away from one of the many food places in the town. The bed was very low and the lights were quite dim but the staff were very welcoming and accommodating and we had a great stay.

Vale for money
Its a basic hotel for a basic price. Was clean, friendly and good for what we wanted, a late stop, easy access to a pub and cafe, then away without fuss.
Shower OK, bed compy...but pillows to big.
PS - lovely building
was not good that the lift was not working. My room was very nice as was the jacuzzi!

Hotel booked for location and early start. Dog allowed. Room was as advertised. Lovely wetroom bathroom. Easy check in/out. Parking space available. The disappointment was I asked for low floor (as no lift) and a quiet room- this was agreed during correspondence, but on arrival was given top floor room next to what appeared to be only other people booked in that night! Quaint town with shops/cafe and petrol starion.

The Knighton Hotel is quiet and well-located. Unfortunately, they don't do meals, although they do have a coffee shop, which I didn’t try as I was out allday walking. The evening I arrived there was a leak through the inspection hatch in the ceiling of my room. When I reported it I was instantly moved to another and larger room (turned out the leak was coming from the shower in the room above). Good service there. My only quibble was that the mattresses were much too soft for my back (that said, I like a very firm mattress).
This hotel is a duty of care breach for the selling agent.

New mattresses required
If you stay in room 15, I hope they have changed the mattresses. You could feel the springs through all three. Absolutely stunned that the hotel was still using them and expecting anyone to sleep on them. Pillows could be improved as well. Otherwise clean hotel, good bathroom, nice shower etc.

Lovely room. Nice staff. just a shame it seemed half closed with no bar or food and apparently few other guests.
