The Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre
5/5 Excellent
"We stayed at The Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre for one night after arriving in Ireland, and it was a perfect start to our trip. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the property itself is beautiful. It's set on lovely, quiet grounds with a fantastic view of the River Shannon from our room. The bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the peace and quiet after a long travel day.
The nearby town is charming and just a short walk away, which made for a nice evening stroll. The hotel was quite busy due to the bank holiday, but it still felt relaxed and well managed overall. Dinner was enjoyable, though our table could have been a bit tidier, with a few crumbs on top and bits underneath. That said, breakfast the next morning made up for it. The manager went out of his way to accommodate us even though we arrived late. He was a real standout ā friendly, efficient, and helpful.
One small note: the Guinness pouring could use a little fine tuning. Only one of the three we ordered was poured properly, but it didnāt take away from the overall experience.
We would happily stay again and recommend The Lakeside Hotel to anyone looking for a scenic, restful stop in a lovely part of Ireland."
