Get your vacation started off right by walking right out your back door to the beach for some surf fishing, sand castle building or wave action. After plenty of beach time, the fun and relaxation continues back at the house with the large family pool, hot tub, elevator, and expansive decks for star gazing and outdoor dining. This quiet and central location is perfect for exploring both northern and southern Outer Banks. Close to shopping, restaurants and many OBX activities, you won't miss a thing when you stay in this Oceanfront Southern Shores vacation home. And when you're not exploring all the Outer Banks has to offer, you and your family will enjoy the simple pleasures...whether it's sitting on the shaded porch, playing in the sunny pool, stepping out your door for an early morning walk on the beach or watching the dolphins splash in the ocean from the family room, The Ice House has everything you need to turn your Outer Banks vacation into a fantastic family memory.

Beautiful home in a great location. Dolphins in the morning with a cup of coffee and a beautiful sunrise and sunset. Beds so comfortable and kitchen fully loaded. Great trip.

House was beautiful when we walked in. Some areas need attention. Leaks in upstairs and downstairs ceiling, grill wouldn’t go above 200 degrees (meal ruined) screened in porch very very dirty. Outside of house needs updating.

The house has important "wow appeal" for a group of 7 or 8 people. Neighborhood, location, proximity to beach, pool, and sightseeing / restaruant options were all tops. Only two areas for constructive comment - no idea why there is no soap, shampoo in bathrooms, or very basic necessities in kitchen such as salt, pepper, sugar, sweetener, coffee, etc. It is in the contract that these items are not provided, but for the price of the rental, and the modest $25 cost of these items, it seems unkind. Beach towels should be provided - they are easy to wash in the house at change over and it helps customers to not have to pack such bulky items. We did rent beach chairs and cabana for each of our days from a local vendor named Farmdog. They were great and reasonable.
