Just four blocks from beach access at the 3.5 milepost, Our Happy Place rests on top of a quiet hill in Kitty Hawk. Just a short drive over the bridge will take you there!
Situated close to terrific local eateries and the Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve, and only a mile or two from movies, putt-putt, local spas and fitness, grocery stores, you’ll feel right in the middle of everything!

We truly enjoyed ourselves here. The home felt welcoming and warm like home BUT-still felt like we were on vacation. Plenty of space and tucked away niches to be alone with a book or a breeze on any of the many areas on the decks, and large areas to engage in Family together time, an outstanding pool area, quiet neighborhood and close proximity to anything snd anywhere. Our 1 year old daughter had SOOO much space to get her roll on with her walker! Thank you for a splendid FIRST Family Tradition vacation in such a sweet Home!!!!

Wonderful Weekend Gateway

Happy time at Our Happy Place!

Plenty of room for our all adult family and 1 small doggo! Really enjoyed the pool, hot tub and the trip to the beach was totally manageable. Well equipped kitchen and grill worked will with no issues at all. Thanks!

Much needed break

Love the convenience and the size of the house. Everyone has their own space to spread out. Loved the pool and hot tub. My boys loved the pool table and ping pong table. My furry boys enjoyed the walk around the neighborhood as well. Will stay again.

We rented this house to celebrate my 60th birthday. The house was awesome. Very clean, great layout and conveniently located right around the corner from my family. The owners were great to deal with!

Already planning a trip back!

Stayed here for a friends wedding weekend 15 mins down the road & we want to turn it into an annual trip! Kacie was amazing and the house was exactly as published. All bedrooms were a good size. Pool, hot tub, games, and a quick walk to the beach. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

Our happy place indeed

We’ve stayed here twice so far, and plan to come back next year. Property owners are quick to respond when you have questions/issues. House is great - pool and hot tub are nice. Like all the balconies to enjoy outdoors even from the house. Close enough to beach that you can see ocean from the top floor front balcony. Nice quiet street away from the highway but still close to everything.

Fun as usual

The house was very nice. Everyone enjoyed the ping pong table, pool table, foosball,pool, and hot tub. The gas grill was great (no buying charcoal) I took an electric scooter and explored the neighborhood. I kept off the highway naturally and that kept us from using the scooter to the fullest. The kitchen was well equipped, parking was very good (we had 3 cars) and the pool area was used daily.

Mermaid Way

The family and I had originally booked Our Happy Place. The owner called to let me know that there was a problem at the property and that it could be fixed but it wouldn't look great or we could switch to their other property. We decided to switch to Mermaid Way. This property was great. The family loved the whole house, including the hot tub, pool and new game room. The location was good. Easy walk to the beach. Mini golf and grocery store right across the street. There was even dog bowls, a dog bed and chew toy for our dog. The only down fall is it is right next to the main road, so there is a lot of traffic noise. You do get use to the noise. The owner is quick to respond and very accommodating. Great beach get away

Communication with owners was excellent. The home was well stocked with items needed. My grandkids loved the pool and spent loads of time in there. Garbage days were very convenient as was the pool guy. Minor issues with cleanliness in bathroom downstairs. We loved our time there at their ‘Happy Place’. Only wish was that we could walk to beach. The 4 lane highway was too busy to cross. However we were able to drive a short distance to a beach parking lot. Parking was available daily and it was right where a lifeguard sat. Thanks for the memories and the use of your home!!

Perfect Micro Wedding

My husband and I rented Our Happy Place for our wedding party. We had a small wedding and 9 adults stayed in the home. One evening we had our small reception at the house. We had a fabulous time. Everyone was pleased with their rooms and we enjoyed the amenities! I love to cook, and I appreciated the well stocked kitchen and all the fridge space! We were also so happy that our dogs could stay with us as they were part of the wedding. The only downside, if any, is it can be difficult to walk to the beach. We were able to find a cross walk one morning, but drove every other day. Overall, we loved this place and we all talk about renting it again to celebrate our anniversary!

Lovely getaway!

Stayed from Aug 26-Sept 2 2023, have been to OBX many times before, but usually stay in Nags Head. It was 6 adults (parents + 2 adult children and their spouses), 1 child (>1 yr), and our dogs. The property itself was very nice- clean, bright and spacious. The stairs are a great workout, but certainly could be tiring for some folks. Also had plenty of nice flatware and glassware- something you rarely find in house rentals- so that was very refreshing! Pool was perfect, we spent a lot of time there. It was kind of hot for the hot tub, but we did go in once and it was also very nice. Brand new grill! We used it to cook a meal one evening. Very close to a lot of things- grocery, Brew Thrus, restaurants, ice cream, souvenir shops, etc. The only downside doesn't really have anything to do with the house itself, but it's proximity to the beach. The house is on the non-ocean side of a VERY busy 4-lane road, so you have to walk a ways down (no sidewalks) to use a crosswalk, or you can drive. We usually like to be closer to the beach and walk instead of packing the car, driving, parking, unpacking, etc., so we ended up spending less time on the beach then I personally would have liked. May not be a big deal to others, just a preference that I should have paid closer attention to when booking. Overall, would definitely recommend! Especially if you're more of a pool person than a beach person :)

OBX Vacation

We had an amazing time staying at Our Happy Place rental. Loved the location, the pool/hot tub/rec room!!! Close to the beach, added a few extra beach chairs & cooler for future guests to enjoy. Owners quick to respond to questions & requests! Will stay here again in we head back to OBX.

Great Family Vacation

The house was great, plenty of room for all 8 of us plus two dogs. Pool was nice when we needed a break from the beach.Public parking for the beach was just a minute away. Owner was helpful with answering any issues/questions we had.

An amazing house and well located ! We had a wonderful time The pool came in handy when the kids were too beat up to go in the ocean anymore. Plenty of room for our big crew of five adults, three kids and a baby. They even had a high chair and pack and play! The dogs were also very impressed with their beds Would defiantly recommend
